Excellent site and wardens

This was our 3rd visit to this site. This site is in a great location for Southport or catching the train to Liverpool from Birkdale. The site was fairly busy but not full, on this occasion we had a hard standing with awning pitch. The pitch we had was spacious and level. We stayed for 9 nights and the weather for the beginning of September was an added bonus. The wardens are amazing and look after the site and facilities very well. We will be back.

Perfect site.

Very friendly staff on arrival, clearly explained the pitching up procedure. Supplied us with site map, pointed out relevant paths and amenities, and supplied us with leaflet detailing site rules. All staff we saw throughout our stay were busy beavering about with some job or other, but still flashed us a smile as they went past. Spotlessly clean shower & toilet block. Spotlessly clean site. Useful, clear signage. Site ideally placed for walking into Southport, less than 20 minutes to the heart of the town. Take the road route or the coastal scenic route! We will certainly visit again, and recommend.

Clean site & Good location for Southport

This site is clean and within walking distance of Southport. It has easy access when you arrive. The wifi / TV signal was not the best Due to its location, with public footpaths going through the middle of the site, the shower / toilet facilities are key access only which causes a little issue when you've got a couple of kids but manageable. You are also mindful of those not booked onto the site, walking around. The facilities were clean and tidy but would ask if they could change the pipes for the water / waste system, as these were damaged, meaning water went everywhere, other than in the barrel. Southport was a nice town pre covid but now a little run down and is obviously struggling. There is a children's park just outside of the site which is great and the children did enjoy the freedom of cycling around. It was a little more expensive than some but OK for a brief weekend away

Fantastic site

The site is easily accessible via any route, well maintained and lovely and quiet. The location is fantastic if you like walking and have dogs. The beach is just outside the site and if you want to park on the beach for the day Ainsdale beach is just a couple of miles away, miles of beautiful sand. The new toilet blocks, showers and pot wash are lovely and so clean. All in all this is a must stop at site if you want to either crash and do nothing or walk for miles by the sea. Great TV reception and full 4 G on two different mobile networks so the Wi-Fi not yet being updated was not a problem at all. Highly recommend this site.

Lovely stay

Just spent 2 nights at this sight. Everything was spot on. Wardens friendly. Phil stopped to chat with us. He asked if everything was ok with our stay which I thought was lovely. He was equally thrilled when we told him how impressed with the site, especially the cleanliness of the toilets, washing up area. Location is great. Will definitely return

1st visit to Southport

This was our first visit to Southport and also our first visit to a club site. We were very impressed with the warm welcome we received, the layout of the site and the facilities, especially their cleanliness. Loads of things to see and do for families within a 10 min walk from the site or if like us, you want something a little less busy, Formby Nature Reserves was a 10 min drive away. We didn't have our bikes with us this time, but it was a great location for direct access to the Sustrans National Cycle Route no 62. We found a great little chippy 5 mins drive away from the site, in Fylde village but there was also a Morrisons and McDonalds also within a few mins drive from site. All in all a great place to stay.

The Best of British (seaside)

This was our first proper trip away in our (new to us) caravan, as complete novices. We chose well. Easy access, friendly welcome (no issue with digital membership card by the way), great location (nearest pub -The Fishermans Rest - 7 minutes walk - booking advisable for food), maximum 15 minutes to Lord Street through Victoria Park (or Rotten Row when the park closes in the evening). Fantastic Victorian architecture on Lord Street. So many places to eat too. We also walked into Birkdale which is nice - more places to eat and drink and is the nearest railway station. The traditional seaside arcades are not "in your face" like in other seaside towns. You don't actually have to walk past them if you don't want to, to enjoy the splendour of the town. My brother in law and I did go for the Viking (crazy) Golf which was great fun though. Didn't visit the famous lawn mower museum - we'll save that for our next visit ;-) Crosby down the coast for the Anthony Gormley statues. The site is typical Club - good location - first class facilities. Some of the pitches were flooded (it's very flat down the bottom end) but there had been heavy rain prior to our arrival and you chose your own pitch anyway so unaffected. WiFi is poor/unuseable, although we received an email before our visit saying they were upgrading - so need someone to update that - I wasn't convinced by what I heard that it would be much better. Unfortunately, typically, 4G signal is also poor - so bring the cards/jigsaws/DVDs for the rainy days. Finally a shoutout to the wardens who on the last day came up with a pin-alignment tool which I never knew existed having never needed one before (I have one now). Thought for a moment we weren't going home. We will be back!
