Pleasant Friendly Site in Good Location

We stayed at Stanmore Hall Touring Park on a rather cold weekend for the maiden outing of our new caravan. The site was well laid out with excellent clean facilities. Staff were very friendly. A short walk to the bus stop for buses to Bridgnorth or Wolverhampton An observation is that the "Super Pitch" we booked and paid extra for was rather smaller than we had expected. It was not possible to set the Caravan, Awning and Car side-by-side as required by the site instructions, unless we parked the car on the grass. Not something we wanted to do during a very wet February, so we tucked the car in front of the caravan but it was tight not to impinge on the roadway. The other observation is that it is a fairly large site and although it was not full when we visited, so no issue then, I wonder whether the facilities would be adequate come the busy summer period.

Picturesque setting

This is a lovely part of the world and this is an ideal base to see it from. Only one shower block but that was spotless and fairly modern. Pitches are neat and generous. The whole place has a friendly open feel.

First Class

A beautiful site, typical of Morris Leisure high standards. We stayed here for 7 nights in August and we had a beautiful serviced pitch overlooking the lake. Not a lot within walking distance but an hourly bus service into Bridgenorth. On Friday and Saturday nights they have a mobile bar, a food van which varies and so it’s a lovely opportunity to mix with other guests. Highly recommended.

Beautiful Site

Stanmore Hall is lovely and clean as are the facilities. We were on the adult only section overlooking the lake with duck, a Peahen and Peacock the sites are spacious. Local supermarket is Aldi about a mile away or Sainsbury in Bridgenoth which is a great little town. Unfortunately the lift from low town to high town is not running for the rest of the summer due to work to the cliff. Bearmans the butchers is well worth a visit, their selection of meat, prepared ready to cook and delicatessen is really something. Morris Leisure currently operate a loyalty card, stay for 12 night at any one of their sites and get a night free.

One of the best sites we have used

Been involved with caravaning for 10 years and this is one of the best sites I have been to. I'd rate it higher than Riverside but both do not disappoint. Stanmore Hall is well-kept and well-spaced. Access is easy along main roads and it is not too far from the M6 (though beware that northbound traffic has to travel further on A roads to reach an appropriate junction). The pitches are large and level and the facilities are clean and well-equipped. Although at the expensive end of the cost spectrum, the CAMH could learn a lot from how these guys run their site. Very pleased and we will return.

HIghly Recommended

We had stayed at the Riverside site in Betws-y-Coed and loved it so much there that we decided to go on to another of the Morris Leisure sites, and after choosing Stanmore Hall and were definitely not disappointed. Stanmore Hall is a lovely clean site with immaculately kept facilities.and gardens and the staff couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. The pitches are very generously laid out so it all feels spacious even if the site is full, and the lake is a lovely addition along with the resident ducks and peacocks. From there, it's only about a mile to either Asda or Aldi, and approximately a 10 minute walk to the bus stop, where the buses appear to run hourly between Wolverhampton and Bridgenorth. Bridgenorth itself is a town on 2 levels, well worth visiting and very popular and lively in the High Town on market days. There is a beautiful park up in the castle grounds, or down in the Low Town you can walk alongside the River Severn, and there are many places to eat or have a drink. Ironbridge is well worth a visit too, and we particularly enjoyed an almost full day there in the Victorian Town Museum at Blists Hill. We very look forward to visiting again and would highly recommend this site to anyone, whether they just want a peaceful break away from it all on a site that's almost a large attractive garden, or they'd like to explore the area and it's history.

Top location

Such a great camping, great location, very clean, and nice view with the lake. Wonderful place, big pitches, you don't feel that it's crowdy. We've been there on the coronation bank holiday weekend, the camping was full, but we didn't feel it. Definitely it's one of the location where we would love to come back.

Great find

Very friendly and helpful staff, well stocked shop and great setting. Bit of a walk to the facilities but the views meant it didn’t matter.

Top quality, tremendous camp

This is a top notch camp, excellent quality. It has some magnificent trees, and a lake. The stars of the show are the peacocks. My only criticism is the wifi, which is worse than useless. It connects, and then drops out almost immediately. It's not worth having at it's present standard. I mentioned this to the manager but seemed to fall on deaf ears.

Our third visit to this fabulous site

This is our third visit to Stanmore Hall as it's convenient for us visiting our families. The site is exceptionally well maintained, facilities block is spotlessly clean and warm, which is a bonus in the winter! All the site staff are friendly and work hard to maintain the facilities around the site. The shops has a selection of food caravan items too. We already have more visits planned later in the year and look forward to returning.
