I spent a very pleasant week at Stover. A great little site, and although no toilet block, given the current pandemic, that wasn't a problem.
The problem, however, was pitch 37. It should be avoided at all costs, and any other pitches that are under a pine tree. Unfortunately it was the only one available when I arrived.
It wasn't just the continual machine gun rattle of the pine cone seed falling on the caravan roof, 24 hours a day, but the mess it made of the caravan. The pine sap combined with rain and sun left the bodywork severely stained. After trying various cleaning products, and white spirit and Gunk, which had no effect, I spent five hours and a whole bottle of T Cut to attempt to remove it. It seemed to work but there are still some residual streaks on the paintwork. I haven't been able to tackle the roof yet, which is completely brown!
A lovely week, but that did tend to spoil it a bit.
