Very good site. We were taking a brake & revisiting area after long time.

Just spent 4 nights at this beautifully kept site, with very friendly wardens. Good location to explore the South Devon, we had good weather. Site is next to a lovely country park with lake and walks. Supermarket, fuel , retail and fun park not too far away, but far enough away not to impact on site (no noise except the toot of the steam train during the day), but the road to it not suitable to walk. Our first time in the motorhome with no outside facilities but found it very easy to use the service point. Good power hook-up. We took a small motorcycle to get about and found plenty to see within 20 miles. Would highly recommend this site for staying in this area or stopping off if on a longer journey.

Wonderful stay

We stayed here for 10 nights in June 2017 and it was bliss. It's important to note that there's no toilet block but all other facilities were excellent and the wardens were friendly and exceptionally helpful. It is near the main road but we didn't notice too much traffic noise, and a great advantage was that it is a short walk to the bus stop and we took advantage of the great bus services linking to all parts of Devon. Would thoroughly recommend this site.

Immaculate site close to lots of interesting places

We stayed on the three hottest days of June and had a lovely site shaded from the afternoon sun by the beautiful trees that grow around the edges and down the middle of the site. The staff are friendly and welcoming, they keep the place really tidy and don't enforce silly rules. We met some delightful campers, too. The area is perfect for exploring the coast or going inland to Dartmoor, including Bovey Tracy, Moretonhampsted and Chagford, right next door to Stover Country Park, and on a bus route. There is just so much to see and do if you like the outdoors, small interesting towns or National Trust properties. It's a very easy site to get to off the A38 and has the amazing Trago Mills shopping experience on the doorstep. We didn't notice the traffic noise some people complain about, despite having all our windows open in the heat. The motor home service point is well placed and easy to use for those of us with continental style waste water dumping.

Lovely Site

This was our first visit to Stover site and we were not disappointed. The site was well kept and the staff very friendly and helpful. The Lady in the office was always cheerful and welcomed you with a lovely smile. The dog walk is great and with the country park next to the site (and free) its doggy heaven. No toilets but the facilities are well kept and always clean and tidy. Excellent access directly off the main road and near the A38. The only negative is the very busy road which could put some members off because of road noise if pitched near it. As most members seemed to be older its probably not that suitable for families with young children as there are no activities on site. (although the country park is close by) We would definitely recommend the site plus its great value for money.

Noisy,

This used to be our favourite site but not anymore we shall not be going again, it's not the sites fault but every Wednesday and Thursday there is a clay pigeon shoot in the adjacent field. There are shots once or twice every ten seconds, it's very distressing and causes dogs to start barking and as with our friends dog which was terrified, he had to put it under the bed as she was shaking. There are a lots of elderly use this site and many we met were extremely disturbed by the shots, many complained and we know of lots that had come down from Yorkshire said they would not return. I sent an email complaining to c&mhc, they replied saying a local manager would be in touch, nearly 2 weeks gone nothing heard yet. We shall be going elsewhere in future.

Lovely short break with a fantastic staff

I decided to go local for our fist proper stay in our new caravan. After reading that there are no facilities such as showers and toilets I thought it be a great idea to try out our caravans own facilities. However.... I had NEVER used them before and this was only my second trip EVER in a caravan and I was on my own with my 13 year old son!! I asked if there was anyone could do a quick check just to make sure I was doing everything right upon arrival. Graham, a volunteer staff member was called to look out for me. He came over with a smile and helped me no end by checking what I was doing was correct and going above and beyond to make me feel safe watched on by his lovely wife. The surrounding area was stunning and fantastic for walking my dog. We slept wonderful for the two nights we were there. The site was immaculate and everyone seemed so friendly. We definitely will be returning.

ENJOYED OUR VISIT

Leaving today after a 3 week stay. Very much enjoyed the site in most respects. The wardens keep a tidy ship as you would say(thank you) We found it is very accessible from the A38 and easy entrance. The iffy bit as said before is the boy racers who seem to enjoy disturbing the piece and quiet.especially when you are trying to go to sleep. Not the sites fault. Where the site is is perfect for many places of interest within a good radius. We will definitely use the site again when down from Yorkshire.

noisy bank holiday

we visited the site on a bank holiday weekend in april, won't be doing that again,as it took over 6 hours to get there from the midlands, when it usually takes just over 3 hours, its a lovely site but the noise from the nearby main road at night is like being by a race track,cars/motorbikes driving flat out,not the sites fault but it has now put us off returning to this site as it seems to have got worse since we started visiting this site in 2012.site is clean, staff helpful, would be better with toilet/shower facilities, loads to see in the area, recommend a visit to Dartmouth.
