POOREST WELCOME EVER

I have stayed at many CMC sites with my husband during our 10+ years as members, receiving warm and friendly welcomes every time. Unfortunately this was not the case here. I think this particular warden had skipped the module on good customer relations! At every site the first thing we are normally asked is - have you visited this site before? No - that was not even on the agenda. At the grand old age of 75 years of age I was treated like a child. Hand raised to stop me speaking, before she then raised her other hand and pointing her finger at my husband, she told him to wait outside. Our fault - one person meant one person and not one bubble. Our stay was complicated as we were between homes our new build having been delayed, so we were travelling with a campervan and car. For two nights of our ten night booking we wished to leave the campervan and travel down to visit family in Yorkshire. I had previously phoned CMC head office number to ask about this only to be told to check with the site. I phoned the site to check it out and was again told to check it on arrival. This caused the complications, resolved in a very unsatisfactory manner, with a throw-away remark - after all we're not a car park. When I returned to give our pitch number in order to receive the barrier fob, I tried to say I knew how it worked - I'd been before but was interrupted, told to wait until it was all explained to me. I then received a very graphic demonstration on how to use the fob as though I was a five year old. By this time we would have just left but since we were 'homeless' we had nowhere to go at short notice. The site itself was as we'd remembered- very clean and well cared for. The facilities especially the toilets and showers were first class. Yes there's plenty of traffic noise but that's to be expected being very close to the busy M74 motorway on one side and another busy dual carriageway on the other. Public transport is still a problem involving a very circuitous walk crossing these busy roads on overhead walkways. Strathclyde Country Park is great for families and dog walking.
