Our first visit to Sutton on Sea was a really pleasant experience. From the moment of first entering the site (ideally from the direction of the A52) the impression was of good management, tidiness and modern facilities, with security barriers and clear traffic markings. The pitches are level and well drained, and an adequate choice of "with or without" trees. The modern facilities block is centrally situated and appears of adequate size, although the current covid restrictions make it difficult to judge the peaks and troughs of demand. It can sometimes be difficult for the prospective "loo only" user if the 4 at a time limit has been reached by 4 people having lengthy showers! The wardens were all friendly, knowlegeable and efficient and seemed to be on hand all the time. It is certainly not their fault that the "blurb" for sites near the sea often understates the time to walk to the beach, or boasts that there is plenty of good local cycling, when actually to cycle on the stretch of road just outside the site you need to have nerves of steel or near suicidal tendencies. You really need to be prepared to walk the first half mile. Having said that we cannot wait to go back again, with or without covid restrictions.
