Never Again

This is the first Caravan Club site we have visited since joining. Arrived to a waterlogged pitch. Went to speak to reception, which had the door and lights open and had just served someone to be told they were closed…at 5.30pm. She was easily the rudest person I’ve come across at any site and was thoroughly unhelpful. Stayed two nights. Bins across the site were overflowing and never emptied, toilets and showers only cleaned in the afternoon so completely foul in the mornings and after a very hot day, we saw that reception had a big ice cream sign outside and a huge freezer…only to be told they hadn’t had any deliveries and wouldnt have any during our stay. Would not recommend, nor would we go again. Whoever is responsible for staffing this site should take a long hard look at who they have interacting with guests!!

Dirty and disappointing

How this is associated with caravan club is shocking, no hot water for whole week we stayed, constantly complaining about it, the facilities were filthy and last day rained which showed the pitches were not well back, would not return

Very poor site

Having stayed here years ago we decided to return. It has really got run down. We stayed a nearly a week. The road (belonging to the site) was a disgrace. Full of huge pot holes. One very deep one! The bins were overflowing and stinking. The recycling bin too full to put anything in. These were not emptied during our stay. Pitches have weeds growing through. The Covid stuff. Disgusting. The men’s toilets. Two rubber bands in a pot, not in any kind of disinfectant, 4 men’s cubicles with the middle 2 open. Right next to each other, the end ones taped off. Please explain this to me? No soap etc next to hand basins for hand cleansing. MOST IMPORTANT.. No Wifi. Even with their (£60 to hire) box. Tried everywhere on site. NO Wifi. Told it had been a problem. I asked them why not fix it. No EE service. (Well very, very weak) The lady in reception was very friendly. Everyone we spoke to on-site said it had really gone downhill. Never again

Good for families

As a child free couple we found this site a bit full on with lots of families and children running and cycling everywhere on the site. There were walks from the site however the map from the shop hadn't taken into account closures of gates so it was hard to find the starting route. There are places to visit nearby but not in walking distance, so it's probably better not to be in a motorhome and to be able explore by car instead.

First visit to Tanner Farm

Stayed here February 2019, lovely tucked away site, staff were extremely helpful, especially the young fella who got our Moho started with tractor. Thank you. Facilities were very clean and kept tidy. Unfortunately t.v, mobile and internet were very poor. Walks were excellent, office has a few printed walk routes which were great.

Incorrect Information

The campsite was very clean and showers excellent. Reception were friendly but not very knowledgeable. The review stated that the bus stop was located directly outside the Caravan Park, this is not accurate. The bus stop is 17 minutes walk from the site along a treacherous road, with no footpath or walkable verge. When we asked for info regarding bus services we were told at Reception that 'I haven't been on a bus in 30 years' so she couldn't help. We manged to get the bus into Marden then the train to Tonbridge where we had to change for Tunbridge Wells so that wasn't straightforward either. The last bus back from Marden was timetabled for 18.30 but that was only weekdays so we tried a taxi but they weren't running either, we then discovered the taxi service had closed down. Thank goodness for the wonderful landlady in the West End Tavern (info@westendtavern.co.uk) who drove us back to the campsite. This is not the first time she has come to the rescue of campsite visitors. The wide selection of restaurants and pubs in the nearby villages and towns is totally dependent on your own transport - nothing is within safe walking distance. If you are a Motorhome owner as we are in the winter months this is not a site to visit unless you also tow a car or are prepared to drive your Motorhome into the villages.

Did not meet expectations

Although spacious pitch’s - hard standing or grass are of good size, I wouldn’t necessarily say peaceful! Yes, plenty of room for children to run around and play. Yes, access to dog walks or walks in general but unfortunately not all fellow campers considered how noisy their children were or their dogs when in close proximity to others!! I have children and a dog - which we didn’t bring, I felt like certain others didn’t care how noisy they were. Receptionists were not the most welcoming. The maintenance chap on the tractor was the friendliest. The shower blocks are slightly on the small side and the south block stinks of grey waste water whether it’s been cleaned or not! Hand dryer is something from the 1970’s and so is the hair dryer. Our Motorhome and our friends Motorhome were situated on nice large pitches but opposite the bins and next to the waste water treatment building!! Nice smells - not and noise of glass bottles being thrown into the bins during day and night was most annoying!! I understand this site is being made out to be top rated. We stay usually on caravan club or 5 star sits and I’m afraid Tanner Park not to our standard and not as nice as most of the caravan clubs own sites. Others may have a different perspective but it’s not a site we will return to. I think it’s lost its Mojo...sorry Tanner Farm!

No Motorhomes on grass!

After being lied to on the phone that Motorhome are not allowed on grass only on hard standing I booked a pod. The pod was basic but done the job. I found that there were 2 Motorhomes on the grass and several campers. The site has more rules than a nazi concentration camp which I broke becoz I moved my car from the pod to go see friends on a different park of the site. Won’t be back!

Beginning to feel like home here!

Our married son and his family live very near to Tanner Farm, so it's a convenient place for us to visit them. We have stayed on 5 separate occasions now, and each time it's been very good. The staff are very friendly helpful. The shower and toilet facilities are superb. Great walks directly from the site to walk the dogs.

Recent unhappy stay

This was our first visit on using Caravan and Motorhome club. We received a reasonable warm welcome however there was no guide to our pitch, just a map which in itself was not very exoplanetary. Pitch was a good size but not too level, it was in a dip. On our first evening we spotted kids removing the lid from main drain and depositing rubbish in it. My husband went out and replaced it. On reporting this to reception one of the replies was "not sure what I am expected to do" well they soon would if a child fell down that 7ft drop. A traffic cone was put on top of it. There was a really bad thunderstorm on Saturday night and we woke up to find that the caravan was surrounded by water approx. 3 to 4" of water. We visited the reception and were told quote "well we could move you but its only for one night, is it worth it" We left! There was no real sympathy for our flooded pitch and no mention of a refund for the one night. Very disappointed and needless to say we will not return.
