Travelling North

Nice clean, well managed site and friendly wardens. Smooth check-in service. Nice walk into Barnard Castle - recommend visiting the Bowes Museum.

Last Minute Booking - Made very Welcome

We were en route to the ferry at Cairnryan and decided we needed a stop. We booked online and I was a bit worried that we would arrive and find we couldn't get access as we were running late. We were given a warm welcome and allocated a pitch. It was spacious, tidy landscaping and we were set up in no time. We had been given some local tips on walking and eating and we went into Barnard Castle for a meal at the Old Well Inn. The food was well priced and tasty. Overnight there was a bit of road noise but we always have ear plugs at the ready and the site itself was silent from 10pm. The facilities were spotless and overall it was a perfect rest up. Would use again.

We’ll be back!

We have had a fabulous weekend at this site and will definitely be back. The site is spotless, the pitches maintained and the grass well kept. The facilities are clean and accessible to all, and the children’s playground looks lovely - although we didn’t use that ! There are plenty of dog walks from the site and water for them to cool off in. 15 minutes walk through the adjacent nature reserve and you’re in the town itself. I’d like to also mention the wardens - super friendly around the site, knowledgeable about the area… and helped us out with a bolt for a repair job too. Can’t rate highly enough.

Lovely site

Stayed for one night at short notice, and very pleased with the site. Beautifully kept, friendly and helpful staff, nice atmosphere and good pitch. Some reviews questioned the closing of the toilets/bathroom facilities for cleaning every morning… personally I was extremely impressed and happy with how well kept and clean and spacious these facilities were. Overlooking beautiful woodland and saw a tawny owl at dusk! Very much recommend this site and

Mens tiolets

The site itself is lovely but a site this size only having 4 mens tiolets aren't enough in the morning.alter two of the wash basins to tiolets as I think there will be more of a urgency to use the loo more than wash your face

Lovely site

Lovely site well laid out and friendly wardens and immaculately kept we had one of the new serviced pitches which was along side the road but with very little noise. We did not use any facilities. There is a play ground for children. In the area Barnard Castle is a short walk but uphill on the way back the Castle is worth a visit and a must is High Force falls which has a lovely walk down to low force falls and back would highly recommend this site

Excellent and Well Maintained Site.

Loved staying here at Teesdale Barnard Castle. The site is beautifully laid out, very well-equipped and extremely peaceful. On arrival, we were greeted warmly by Jan, who was most helpful and flexible. As this was a recent stay, the site was not particularly busy, so we had quite a few fully serviced pitches to choose from. We decided on a more established pitch 50 metres from the main facilities block. The pitch was level and spacious with easy access and close to the nearest service points too. If you choose one of the new fully serviced pitches created last year on the old dog exercise field, the walk to the main block is a minimum 200 metres. The new legacy dog exercise field is compact but adequate. The walk into Barnard Castle is downhill and 15 mins maximum using the main road and 20 minutes if you go via the nature reserve. We found the uphill walk back to site OK, but some visitors could struggle. Had a great meal at the Fox and Hounds at Cotherstone. Highly recommended. All in all - a great site and a lovely visit in a nice area.

Great Site

A very well manicured site. We were pitched in what used to be the dog walk field, now developed into very well prepared hardstanding pitches (some fully serviced). This area was very peaceful and there is still a small dog walking area should you need it. The facilities were up to the usual high standard for C&MH sites and we have to say that the wardens were very welcoming and helpful and gave great recommendations on places to visit and eat in Barnard Castle itself, including the Old Well Inn. We also followed their Teesdale river walk to Cotherstone and can recommend the Fox and Hounds for Sunday lunch. Walking down to Barnard Castle isn't too much of a problem. If you don't wish to walk on the verge alongside the road there is an alternative walk through the Nature Reserve. This is a longer walk and much steeper in places but very pleasant otherwise.

Another Delightful Site

It is easy to take club sites for granted. This one is another winner. Warm welcome, modern facilities and spotless. Great location for walking and, of course, a stroll into town. A winning recipe. There are worse things than a ropey internet connection, aren't there?

Lovely site

First time staying at CAMC site, site is maintained to a very high standard, staff extremely welcoming and helpful. Facilities immaculate. Pitches a very good size, we pitched on the 'new for 2022' area. Ideal location to explore Barnard Castle and surrounding area. Looking forward to returning in the future.
