This is a high quality site set just outside the town of Barnard Castle. All pitches are hard standing and all are level as far as I could see. The site itself is on two levels with one central facilities block and the pitches set out in an oval shape around the office and facilities. The facilities are of a very high standard and are kept extremely clean. In the male section there were four wc's, four privacy cubicles, four urinals, two sinks and six showers. There are several rubbish/recycling/chemical disposal points around the site. Although there is a road running parallel to the upper section of the site it is not overly busy and did not cause any nuisance. A chip van visits the site on Wednesdays and Fridays. Buses to Barnard Castle and Middleton on Tees stop outside the site on request, however the service is not frequent and finishes quite early in the evening - sometime just before 19:00 hours if I remember correctly. Barnard Castle is only a few minutes bus ride and the town could be walked in about 15 minutes. There is a good selection of pubs and restaurants in the town.
