2nd Visit, Mop Fair, Different pitch, Wet weather, Different views....

Our second visit to this site in mh, reliant on public transport. Pitched completely the opposite side of the site to our 1st visit, not by choice but because site full and pitch choice already booked. What a difference this can make to a holiday! The pitch was behind the hedge closest to the Rugby Club! Friday and Saturday nights a bit noisy with locals enjoying a night out to bass music, all finished by 11pm ish. Sunday mornings rugby training competes with bell ringing, take your pick. Its all part of the towns vibrant activities and this town is very active having much to celebrate, staying here for a week can certainly make one feel alive, loved it. October 9 and 10 is busy with the Mop Fair each year, so avoid if its not “ your thing”. We found the hospitality to be great and visited other local venues that opened their doors in those eveings that were normally closed. Tewkesbury is a lively town with friendly people, much the same as the club site. The site is newly laid out and there are issues that have been commented on already in these reviews. I agree with some, the access to the facilities block, depending where you pitch is an issue, it won’t change. The trees and shrubs will grow in time and it will be beautiful again. Just wish the site was open all year, cannot understand why it is not. There is many a good reason why it could be, it is nearly always full and many people stop one or two nights passing through, however we enjoyed a full week visiting many local venues including three National Trust properties. We will be back when the site re opens, but hope it changes to year round opening to enable us to visit family in the town.
