Nice Site, BUT....

This is a nice little site, part of a static caravan park (which is still growing) but I feel that they have tried to squeeze too many tourers in. To get in as many as possible, they appear to have made the pitches longer than usual. They are all hardstanding, which is great, but you can only have caravan/awning (with car stuck on the end of the pitch) or car/caravan side by side. The views down the valley from the site is excellent and each pitch has its own water tap which is unusual. For kids there's a great play area and there is also a swimming pool and leisure centre to keep them amused on wet days. Dog owners may feel a little short changed as the dog walking area is a strip of grass about 120 by 10 yards so not much use if you have an active mutt. Still, Culzean Bay is only a 4 mile drive away with great sand for the dogs to run free. The toilets onsite are very clean and spacious with subdued lighting and piped music. But, they are spoiled for me, as they have my all-time, personal, pet hate - push-button showers! Only 20 seconds between pushes and no control over the temperature. There are no shower curtains and only 2 of the 4 cubicles had hooks/seats inside. On the other 2, you had to use a hook outside the door. Not handy at all. With Ayr, Craigie Gardens site only 10 miles up the road, I'm afraid this is one site I'll not be re-visiting.
