Excellent site and staff very helpful

This was our second trip to Sandringham with our young grandchildren and it was just as good. The site itself is a wildlife haven and tranquil. The grounds are kept well and the dated facilities block were clean. Good to hear there is an upgrade this winter as it is needed. However, what is a real important point, when we needed help as our three year old granddaughter split her lip and needed a first aid kit, they were fabulous, insisted we kept them informed and very helpful. We thanked the next day and were very grateful. Hats off to them.

You are paying for the Sandringham name!!

We stayed at this site for 2 nights whilst on our way home after holidaying in Norfolk. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the site grounds were well maintained. The pitches were large and we managed to find a flat pitch, but did notice that quite a few units were using leveling blocks etc. The site is in a lovely area, and you can walk through the wood immediately off site to Sandringham House. We enjoyed a cycle to Hunstanton, mostly on very quiet roads. The Royal Station at Wolferton is worth a look, as is Sandringham House and Gardens. However, the facilities were a big let down. They were very dated and in need of a deep clean. The showers, of which there were only 3 in the block, did not have a big enough area to keep you clothes etc dry whilst showering. There was black mould on the ceiling and around the pipe work. The water was nice and hot , so a plus point. The washing up station only had 2 sinks, so we had to wait in line to wash up. This area was outside and needed a good clean, as the ceiling area was full of cobwebs, spiders and dead flies. The WIFI was dreadful, so i suggest you research things/opening times etc before you arrive on site. We paid £82.60 for 2 nights, and really, expected more/better facilities for our money. Return visit

Was our first full week visit last year as new caravanners and was a must revisit to see some things we didn't get around to visiting last time. Used the bus this time to have a day in Kings Lynn and very handy just outside the gate, very good quality service every hour and took 20 minutes into town. Spoke to some who had used it to go into coastal towns who also spoke highly of it. All the facilities as to be expected on a club site, but as they are closing at the end of September for a £5 million refurb it would be fair to expect perfection next year and hopefully we will return to sample them. Wardens very friendly and chatty and kept the place clean & tidy, full marks for all of them. The elephant in the room is as mentioned, Wi-Fi, not the clubs fault and will hopefully be sorted during the refurb. Go and see Captain Fawcett's Marvellous Barbershop Museum, unusual place with very lovely staff.

Outstanding staff and a lovely well kept site. Facilities and Wifi need attention though

Stayed here for 9 nights on a grass pitch with awning. Cannot fault the staff they worked hard with a cheerful helpful attitude at all times. Lovely pitches and the site is kept spotlessly clean and tidy. The site team also show their love for the local wildlife and this was most pleasing to see. Wifi is absolutely dreadful though and my other half had to drive two hours home to hold a business meeting online that he should have been able to do from the caravan (Just pointing out though that this was absolutely NOT the fault of the staff on site) Walks from the site are fabulous as is the wildlife and the fish and chips night and Pizza night was a welcome break from cooking or going out to eat. Something needs to be done to address the 5mph speed limit for children on bikes particularly the older teenagers I suggest no bike riding in specific areas needs to be made clearer. Again I would stress the wardens were not at fault here I think the club needs to address this issue overall on their sites. Would I recommend staying here? Yes 100% with the proviso that you do things like research places to visit and opening times online before you arrive as the wifi is so bad in places its impossible to get the signal to check online routes or where is open.

A brief stay

We stayed here for a couple of nights on the way home from a holiday in Suffolk and Norfolk. The welcome as always on a CAMC site was warm and efficient. The pitches were large and we found a good level one towards the top of the site. We appreciated the opportunity to order newspapers for the following morning. We were disappointed with the facilities which are dated and in the womens facilities block, not clean. There is black mould on the ceiling and around the pipe work, some of it easily reachable on a routine clean. There are insufficient washing up sinks and we had quite a wait. The sinks are outside. We couldn't understand why the dog exercise area was in the centre of the upper part of the site which meant that people exercising their dogs for the toilet are on full view of the surronding pitches. Not a great view! It seems odd to have a dog excercise area on a site that is surronded by easy accessible woodland.

3 Nights

We stayed 3 nights. Good size pitches of different types although no fully serviced ones. Facilities extremely clean and well kept. The grounds are immaculate and kept so by excellent managers who are friendly and helpful. Walking immediately off site and you can get to Sandringham House through the woods. Although we didn't use it, there is a local bus that takes you in one direction to Kings Lyn and in the opposite direction to Hunstanton and along the coast. Very enjoyable short break.

Beautiful site

The Sandringham site is probably the best site we have ever stayed on. It is set in lovely woodland. The pitches are very well spaced out. The staff are friendly and the facilities are good. Visiting the Royal Sandringham Hall is a must. House and gardens both excellent, and disabled access good. Worth booking tickets and parking on-line before you go.

A right Royal Site

First visit to the Sandringham site and we stopped for 4 nights. We were welcomed by a very friendly site warden, who helped us identify pitches that were not under trees and would be good if the sun came out. Weather unfortunately was very ‘hit and miss’, we would have lovely sunshine and then heavy showers, and this did make some of the pathways outside the site muddy. The sites pitches were of average condition and are mostly level but we found we had to use ramps as the slope was too great. The facilities are the old standard CMC style and do need to upgraded, but they were always clean. There are some good cycle routes form the site which we tried, one to Wolferton station (the ex Royal Train Station for Sandringham), one to Kings Lynn, and one to the Sandringham Estate. You can also walk to Sandringham which takes about 50m, which we did and we bought tickets for the Sandringham House and Gardens well worth a visit. These cycle and walking routes were handed to us on arrival by the warden. There is a nice pub and a quaint tea garden at Castle Rising both were very good, and there is a bus stop outside the site for the Hunstanton to Kings Lynn bus. The site shop sells some essentials like milk, but would suggest you arrived well stocked as supermarkets are quite a trek unless you have a car. For the majority of our stay the site was quiet and peaceful, only broken by the evensong of cooing of pigeons or barking dogs. Good thing due to sites remoteness, a fish and chip van and a pizza van come on site during the week
