Tranquil Stay with Exceptional Facilities and Perfect Location

The Campsite is a fantastic destination. The facilities are great! There is a games room with a pool, a huge Connect 4, and information about the local area. Great M6 connectivity. The campsite is impeccably maintained, with pristine facilities (showers, toilets and wash up area looked brand new!) and exceptionally welcoming staff. (even when booked in on the wrong day :-P ) The van pitch I had was with with EHU pitch was great. The site provided a peaceful stay, free from any disturbances from the nearby Rookin House activity centre. The convenience of getting to the M6, Penrith, and Keswick makes this site a must-return for me. The hill opposite is a great-looking walk, with views of Blencathra and the hills! Highly recommended for a memorable stay. Lord Adams ;-)

Brilliant site slightly off the beaten track

An absolutely brilliant site which has top notch facilities just off the beaten track. Lovely views of hills and mountains and a lovely stream running through the site. Worth noticing the activity centre next door which can make some noise in daylight hours - only one which caused us an issue was shooting which scared our dog. Other than that brilliant 👍 If you stay, take a wander to Harry’s Bench - top tip! David & Rachel👍

Wonderful site with excellent facilities and easy access to the M6

This is an excellent site which is really well maintained. The facilities are spotless and the staff are really friendly. There’s a lovely dog walk available on site. We stayed on the fully serviced pitches which is further away from the nearby Rookin House activity centre so had no noise at all from them. We will definitely be back as access to the M6, Penrith and Keswick is super easy. The Troutbeck Inn up the road is excellent the food is delicious and the staff are very welcoming and friendly.

Mini Lake District VW Tour

Mini Lake District VW Tour Oct 2023 • Couples Excellent CAMC Site. Good access from the M6 & on the way to Keswick. Rural location for peace & tranquility. Well laid out large site with great facilities to include play area & games room for the kids. Superb toilets & services block. Spotless. Well managed by the onsite team especially Janet, who help avoid a mini catastrophe & Melanie for booking us in. Great pub just up the road the Troutbeck Inn.

Lovely Lake District site

Stayed here over August bank holiday. It’s clean and smart with good facilities and friendly staff, same as we experience at all CAMC sites. This site is really convenient to access the Northern Lakes by car, it’s not so good for walking from, the pub is up the road and there is no footpath or shop within walking distance There is however a lovely walk up into the woods. The information room has the best selection of walking information I’ve seen at any site There is no wifi and signal varies across the site. However Through a combination of data sharing, hotspotting and using a fire stick we managed to watch the football in the caravan! Will come back to this site

Immaculate facilities, quiet, phenomenal staff. highly recommend this site

Granted the site was only half to two thirds full when we stayed. But the facilities and shower block was kept IMMACULATE despite pouring down weather for the 2 nights. Site is zoned to facilitate differing needs, (eg away from play park if you like distance from children). This also gives feeling the site is smaller than it really is. The play park was great and from the zone/area we were in great views from any pitch so could keep eye on little ones whilst setting up and cooking. The staff were super helpful and friendly. Maintained the grounds beautifully. Always available should you need them. Many experienced motorhomers and repeat visitors on the site, super helpful and friendly to us relative newbies. Highly recommend this site and will definitely be back.

The Lakes

Well, what can we say about this site ???????? If ever there was a perfect campsite, this surely is it. From the second we arrived , we were met by extremely nice wardens. Friendly, funny and helpful ,we just knew we were going to like it here. On using the facilities on arrival we were blown away but the shower buildings. Very modern, plenty toilets ,showers and wash cubicles all spotlessly clean. Fantastic pitches all with beautiful scenery from all angles. It is a wonderful gateway to 'The Lakes' . Great play are for children . Superb games and tv room . Fabulous laundry facilities .We liked that there weren't too many dogs close to us as this can sometimes ruin our whole holiday not being dog people. All in all a wonderful site.

Blencathra View

A three-night weekend stay for us and our motorhome. We live fairly close by so brought a car with us too. We found a great pitch, 55, affording an uninterrupted view of Blencathra which was sometimes there and sometimes not depending on the typical Cumbrian weather. The pitch we chose was reasonably level and within range of our not very tall ramps. Access to facilities good. Site in general very good and clean, staff friendly and helpful. Neighbouring farm - 5 minute walk across a field - offers a Friday and Saturday bar as well as various outdoor activities. There are plenty of walks nearby but nothing really straight out of the site. Having the car with us really helped in this respect and gave us the chance to explore parts of the southern lakes we’d not visited before.

Quiet and cold stay

Stayed for a week on a serviced pitch very clean and tidy but weather wasn't good and the toilet block was cold ov an evening no heating on. Also site was very dark on a night as the club has decided to turn off the bollards around the site it is a very rural area so is dark anyway. Very nice area but car has to be used to get to the nearest pub as there is no walkway at the side of the road
