Holiday Highlight !

We used a total of 8 sites during our recent tour of England and Scotland, and whilst all the Club sites used were excellent, Troutbeck Head was a particular favourite. Access is very easy from the nearby A66, making it a great location for exploring the northern Lakeland area. The reception was warm and welcoming and also provided a good deal of useful information about the site and local attractions. The site is beautifully laid our and maintained, and although the location, being in Cumbria, inevitably slopes in many places, great care has been taken to provide spacious pitches which are pretty level and provide not only a feeling of space, but also great views of the surrounding countryside. The shower/toilet block is more than adequate for numbers, and is spotlessly cleaned and maintained. Water, power and refuse disposal is close at hand right across the site. There are walks directly from the site itself, with many more very close to hand and there is a local activity centre nearby for those who like something physical to do ! Beyond that, the northern lakes are very easily accessible, as are many interesting local towns such as Keswick, Pooley Bridge and Ullswater, where there are interesting shops and attractive cafes to be enjoyed after a not-to-be-missed cruise on the lake steamer. The site is superbly located in the Cumbrian countryside, with much to do nearby, but also offers peace and quiet for when you want or need it. This is a superb site in a terrific location, with something to offer for everyone. We look forward to many more visits to Troutbeck Head.
