Good for families

Our first stay in two years but still great.

We haven't stayed here with a caravan since before lockdown but it's always been one of our most visited sites. We received one of the friendliest welcomes by Stuart and soon pitched on the service pitches which were very busy. The site continues to be well maintained and the relatively recent refurbished facilities still looked new. A special thank you another warden Rebecca for being very helpful with one point (All the other wardens were equally cheerful but sorry I didn't get all your names). There are a few different things from last time, the information room has details about cycling routes from the site, there is now a walking route from the site through Matterdale forest to Dockray, and the games rooms has been closed off from the information room so that information is available at all times. From speaking to neighbours the Troutbeck Head Inn (at the turn off from the A66) does excellent meals while we can personally vouch for the Mill at Musgrisedale. There is fish and chips on a Monday night too.
