We spent two weeks from the 7th to 21st July and we really enjoyed but it was spoilt a little by inconsiderate people which is no reflection on the site itself or the Wardens. Despite masks being required to be warn in the communal areas, approximately only 10% of site users wore masks. Also for some reason, some people found it really difficult to follow the guidelines of the wristband system. On our first weekend a middle aged couple had their son and his girlfriend with them. On the Saturday night they were playing Monopoly in their open awning and the young girlfriend thought she had to say the words F... Off on each square she landed on. Luckily they left the next day. The following weekend three or four groups got together as one and the music was far too loud. Another caravaner politely asked them to turn it down which they did but could be overheard goading her until the Warden turned up to have a chat with them. They quietened down but acted like petulant children that had been told off. My last rant, due to the dry weather the dirt road was very dusty and a lot of dust circulated in the air when vehicles were travelling too fast. One Motorhome driver thought he was on a race track when looking for a pitch and in doing so sent a large cloud of dust all over an unfortunate couple who were eating their lunch outside of their awning. Sorry to be a moaning old so and so but lets see a bit more respect for one and other. As a few reviewers have mentioned, the toilet block could do with an upgrade although the wardens kept it thoroughly clean. The hard standing pitches were covered in weeds but I believe the Wardens are unable to apply weed killer etc, as it is the responsibility of the Racecourse staff which is a shame. Apart from the above, it was one of the best caravan holidays we've had in the 15 years we've been members. The site is in a great location for the town and numerous supermarkets. The race day was brilliant but it was a shame the hot air balloon festival was postponed to September.
