Love this site

We love this site as easy to access, walking distance to Warwick and the canal. Facilities are small but adequate and the staff are really friendly and helpful. 2nd visit and we will be back

Wardens……..above and beyond!

3 night stay on way to south coast, been before but will definitely be back for more stays. Not all sites are the same and some are less new than others but it was spotless, an absolute dog heaven, fancy trying it over a race meeting too. 2 miles from M40 and as a caravanner we were in minority it full of kamper a and Motorhomers I suppose as you can walk into the town easily. Our stay was affected due to water issue which led to the facilities being closed for a long period but we managed and I have to say the wardens Steve & Sal went above and beyond to try to resolve this (out of their control) and the CAMC seniors should be aware of this! This said site is spotless, well maintained. Negative comments about the site on here are abundant but in my opinion it’s a lovely, quirky site, that I can’t wait to visit again. So what if TV signal isn’t the same as at home there’s nothing in anyway! Accept some pitches may be tight for big modern motor homes but really…….

Nice Site

Stayed for 1 night as a stopover. Had a non-awning pitch alongside the racecourse on the tarmac area. Clean and well maintained site. Great walks for our dog along the side of the racecourse, up by the golf course and around the back of the site.

Dog Heaven

Great walks just outside the site. Parkrunners staying on site for the Saturday morning run. Helpful and sociable wardens and all seemed clean and well cared for. Poodles will be back.

Excellent site

Only stayed for two nights 24/6/24, excellent site and extremely clean. Wardens very helpful and friendly. Close to town with lots to see but only two days so will have to go back. Main reason for choosing this site was to have a hab service carried out on our motorhome at spinner which is about 4 miles away, was so glad to have chosen this site and would loved to have spent more time there.

Stunning Location

The location of this site, managed, but not owned by the C&MH Club, is superb, with views across the racecourse to the stands. The site is compact and the pitches reflect this. The staff were most welcoming and recommended three suitable pitches, which was more than we expected arriving after 4pm. With the town and racecourse nearby it was very busy in the area round the site. Lots of people walking, walking dogs early in the morning and late in the evening, running, cycling, a very well attended Park Run on Saturday morning, late night party/disco at the Racecourse Hospitality Suite, there is a lot going on here. Other reviews have commented on the lack of TV and mobile signal/wifi. We had all of these and our van only has a standard TV ariel on the roof and our phones are also quite basic. A good town site with quick access to anything you need!

Its only one night

Ok so relatively new to motor-homing and we have been on a selection of CAMC and independent sites so far and its on this that I am basing my review. On arrival, we were allocated a pitch. The only CAMC site this has been the case so far. The pitch was fine with a nice grassy awning area, although the weather did not warrant using it on this occasion. As we were using this site as a stopover to break up a longer journey we just needed the essentials...There was no TV reception or site WiFi. Why not? Not even any site TV sockets on the electric hookup posts as we have had elsewhere. Luckily I had decent signal on my phone so used this to stream some TV. The amenities block definitely is in need of some refurbishment. The shower itself was fine and the water temp and force were above average but the tiles and walls and general fittings made me feel like I was in a third world prison block. We ventured into town only to find a quite run down and shabby feeling place so didn't stay long. In summary, given that our brief one night stopover cost over £35, I cannot see how this is justified alongside some of the superb private sites we have used at a similar or cheaper cost with free unlimited WiFi and fantastic shower and toilet facilities. This site does not compare and I feel that the price is way over what it should be. The club seems to be charging a premium for the location here and not spending the income on the site. Generally speaking, we will be avoiding this site in future.

A Great Location and Site

Warwick Racecourse is a centrally located site, close to the centre of Warwick, with access to many of the surrounding areas by public transport (the local bus station is a 10 minute walk up the road and the train station a little further away - maybe 20 mins walk away - but a very nice walk!). The team at the site are all incredibly welcoming and helpful and know lots about the local area. They are very helpful and supportive of all customers. A pleasure to meet them. Some reviews have complained about the race events - but it’s easy to find out about these dates - as they are already on the sites page! So just be aware that’s all. And it’s like having a free ticket to the races! The site has great facilities - shower blocks are always clean and hot showers (with no pressing of buttons!), and the site is well maintained and looked after. I’ve stayed on grass, hard standing - both non-awning and awning. And I’ve been happy with them all. The hard standing without awning is directly facing the race track (only used during racing days!), and although it’s a large area of parking site - I still find it good for sitting out and relaxing. TV reception is poor - so bring a book or two - or use your Firestick! Phone reception is fine - so I hotspot to my phone data. There’s some supplies for sale in the reception - but there are many local shops nearby, including a Sainsbury’s, bakery (The Two Brother), butchers and general shops all in the centre of Warwick. Local eateries - are very close by (The Four Penny Pub is great and food is excellent- lovely garden area too). Of course the castle is nearby - which is worth at least 1 visit in a lifetime! (It’s all we can afford! 🤣). There’s also local gardens and cafes to visit and a walk around St Nicholas’s park is nice - even if it can get busy on a sunny day (there’s a cafe). Plus Stratford upon Avon and Leamington Spa are a bus ride away. This is my ‘go to’ site on my trips up and down England and love being there.

Good for Stopover or Warwick Visit

We stayed here on our final night of a 3 week tour. Access was good and we found the wardens welcoming and friendly. Small site in the middle of the racecourse, perfectly placed for walking into Warwick and the surrounding area. Shower facilities clean but tired. This is a very popular site and was full when we stayed, but we felt like we were in a bit of a car park not a CAMC site, but perfect for us a stopover.

Great location, but poor pitches and lack of choice over pitch. Avoid on race days!

We arrived at the site on a Monday and hadn't realised that the Eater race was due to happen on the Thursday. We had booked for a week and despite the site being pretty empty we were offered a choice of 4 pitches. There were pitches with cones on which were apparently reserved for units that arrived later and stayed for just a couple of nights. We also noted smaller units being allocated bigger pitches that we had not been allowed to use. We asked for a larger pitch but were told that our pitch was a 7.5m pitch so was suitable for our 7,5m motorhome. The back of motorhome was against hedge and the front was over the road and we were unable to access the bike rack on the rear of the motorhome. The distance between the front of our pitch and the vehicle opposite was extremely tight and must have challenged the 3m fire break rule. This narrowness of the road on a bend had clearly posed a challenge to campers as the grass was churned up and chained off around the roadway. All of this was a shame as this site is a fabulous location for campers with dogs and the town and supermarkets are really close by. The disabled facilities are poor as the floor in the shower room is uneven and doesn't drain well.
