Pre Christmas trip .. Last minute.com

Checked the website and found someone had just released their booking so just had 2 nights at York and as ever the site was excellent,  The wardens really keep this place sparkling and we look forward to our next visit. Really close to the shops, a walk around the wall to the Minster always with a visit. We also found a great little stop off called Cafe Luca, food was fantastic and pretty good value.

Great Site

Great Site always kept very clean and tidy. We arrived when the site was on flood alert. the warden was fantastic by keeping everybody up to date with what was happening with the levels of the river. We will be back again in the summer if we can get booked on.

brilliant site

Excellent visit as always. The wardens were lovely and kept us up to date with the river levels. The site was on flood alert but luckily we managed our whole break there.  It is in a perfect position to visit york and the designer outlet. You can get a park and ride bus to the outlet which makes it very easy if, like us, you have a motorhome we go to the site every year at this time and hope to continue to do so for many more years

Outstanding York

We stayed 2 nights on a last minute.com and couldn't believe our luck that someone had cancelled On arrival we were greeted at the gate by the wardens who confirmed our booking and asked us to go and pick our pitch then go to the office to pay. By far the best checkin process at this site and one that should be adopted on all busy sites...  how frustrating is it to wait in a queue one after the other with all other sites we've experienced so come on CC roll this great initiative out across the board?

The site was lovely and pristine and great Autumn colours from the surrounding trees, the site seemed much better since the large adjacent building was knocked down by the council. The only thing we would like to see is better access control to the toilets and other facilities, replacing the keys entry with a key pad as in Edinburgh. Other than that go and enjoy this fabulous site and the city on its doorstep.

enjoy York

Had a great visit to York. Fourth visit to the site. Very impressed with the wardens and the cleanliness of the site. Enjoyed the Slip Inn and the local fish and chip restaurant. The local shops are worth a visit

Location Brilliant

Been coming here for 10 years now mainly in the autumn, winter months ,There are a lot more children on site now than in previous years and they don't appreciate the fact that not everyone gets up at 8 am ,There were 2 families near us and they were very noisy Location is really good The wardens were polite & friendly. We think the toilet cleaning times should be later in the day,The biggest disappointment about this site  is having to get off at 11.15.The arrival time should be put back till 12.30 .

Simply Wonderful...

I always give a fair review, as I see it. Well, this is our second visit to Rowntree Park, the fact that we returned says a lot! The half term week was lovely and warm again so our short walk up to York town centre on many occasions was most enjoyable. The staff are very accommodating, polite and cheerful. This is a 5* site... Well done to all... I do have one criticism, though to be fair it is apparent on all sites, SPEEDING! In my eyes 5 mph means 5 mph! When there are children playing and even adults walking 5mph matters. There were a few instances, and the culprits were all people who had children with them!
