Electric scooters on site

It was half term when we stayed at Rowntree Park site last week. It was busy (as usual). My main concern on this occasion was that there were quite a number of children riding round at speed on electric scooters - often against the one-way system. There is a 5mph limit on site and these scooters were obviously exceeding the limit. It is illegal to ride them on public roads or footpaths and while the site may be classed as private land it is used by members of the public. The Club must take action urgently to ban these dangerous vehicles before someone is seriously hurt. Also too many children ride their bikes against the one-way system too. There is a great playground in Rowntree Park next door to the site.

Yes I agree completely. We were staying at park Coppice site and a 5 year old going to fast down hill on his bike and was unable to stop. He hit the back of our caravan splitting the back panel and causing £2000 worth of damage. Something needs to be done about it.

Tried to reply ro the original post but couldn't.

However, just to be clear and for the benifit of the CC.  The site, and roads within are open to the public whether by payment or not and therefore insurance is required. As these scooters cant be insured they are illegal. Although if used sensibly are useful.
