We had been trying to get on this site for several years but had always found it fully booked. Returning from a tour of Scotland we managed to get a non awning pitch for a couple of nights and the site didn't disappoint. Even with the road closure outside the site it was an easy walk into York. The toilet and shower block were among the best we've seen on any site and the Wardens were friendly and helpful. The site is a very busy one and there's always movement of units going in and out and we did have one person force his way through the hedge at the back of our pitch and walk across it - there's always one; but the practice of walking across pitches does seem to be becoming more common on all sites these days. That said, couldn't fault the site and great for visiting York.
