Lovely site with golden sands and swimming in sea. Protected by natural harbour. Usual 'tight' pitches for continental site with exceptionally clean facilities where staff are continuously cleaning. Although some toilets had flushing issues there were plenty to choose from. Showers fine in am, but cooler in evening. Great swimming pool and security card access to great beach. Would not accept my Camping Key Card and insisted on seeing each passport. Should have brought cover for car to avoid tree sap. Highly recommend.
4 nights 26th - 30th May 2023
ANPR entry/exit system, with a smart new reception area......
Dis-appointed to be told that pool & restaurant were not open but pool did open for a few hours at the weekend.
Plenty of staff training going on, school visits in progress.
Shower block facilities are modern & very well maintained.
Access to a lovely sandy beach is a bonus of which the chalets have prime viewing.
Our pitch was facing the tidal 'lagoon' which had a public footpath below it which can be used to access the beach around the peninsula that this site sits on.
Sabaris & Baiona within easy walk & restaurants are plentiful.
Can highly recommend Casa Naveira in Baiona.
Splendid Site
We have just spent two nights at this lovely site. It’s location is special: a spit of land between the ocean and a lagoon that fills according to the tide. The ocean side is a beautiful beach of lovely sand with green surroundings. Access is easy. There is a well-run arrival process which was carried out in English in a specially built reception. We were free to make our own selection of plot whose size was satisfactory for our 6m mh. EHU was secure. Excellent free wi-fi. The ablutions and toilets were extremely clean and abundant hot water. V good washing up area. The bar and restaurant is closed until mid-June so it is wise to have supplies.
Bayona has more to it than may initially appear apparent. It’s a 20 minute walk along the sea front to the town centre which is found behind the coast road.. The town is typical of other towns and villages we’ve visited in Galicia.
Impacted by Covid
A nice clean site with a welcoming staff. However the impact of Covid appears severe to both the site and the local town. On site only one of the 3 shower blocks is open, the restaurant, shop and swimming pool do not appear to be opening any time soon. Many shops and bars in the area are closed down. It is only the beginning of the season (1st week of May) and things might improve.
