Fantastic Bel Ombrage

We stayed at Camping Bel Ombrage from mid June 17 for three weeks. The site is a beautiful oasis of green with its well maintained/immaculate bushes and in parts a covering of trees which is useful in the often 40 degree daytime heat. That said......at night the temperature did significantly drop, allowing for a peaceful nights sleep. The swimming pools are large and maintained to a high standard. The site was mainly populated by Dutch and British, who were all non intrusive lovely people.Be sure to look out for a charming character called Buzz who stays every summer with his lovely wife Jen for the last thirty years. The funky toilet block was always spotless with useful new washing machines costing 4€ per wash. The crystal clear river which runs adjacent to the site can be paddled down and was a welcome relief for our two border collies in the midday heat. The site is owned by Michelle and Phillipe, who are two of the most laid back easy going people I have ever met. I had to apologise to Phillipe at the start of our stay, due to our young dogs digging several craters in and around our pitch. His reply" I dig also at night" and howled Werewolf like with a big smile! It was also empowering to be able to put a washing line up and park how we wanted to on the pitch. Can you imagine the green short brigades reaction to this blatant mutiny?? There is a small supermarket"Bio" which you can walk to through fields, which sells orgasmic food at premium. We opted to drive 15 mins to Sarlet which has a number of excellent supermarkets. The cycle route is a two minute ride away passing through Countless Sunflower fields. Needless to say we will be returning next year to this picture perfect paradise.
