Still just has good

As when I last visited in 2001. We preferred the open area, more sun even though it hit above thirty some days. Great band on one evening, did a better cover of despacito than the original, another night there was a jazz duet which was spoiled by some muppet's who gave there kid a whistle to blow while playing on the bouncy castle. Al been said about the facilities,oh and the toilet block from the open field takes about two minutes walk.

Good big surf beach at dunes plage Brem s mer.

Chateau La Foret 2017

We stayed on a super-pitch (in the older section - more shade), 2 adults and 1 dog. The pitch size was generous but not as large as some. Thankfully, it was a grassy pitch - not all are. Beware the pitches in the new section - known as 'The Village', are grassy but have little shade and no toilet block and so entail a long walk for those facilities. We used the restaurant just once; the food was tasty but the menu was limited. The outside bar area is very popular in the evenings with children and adults alike (a bouncy castle and amusements for the children and quizzes and live music for the adults). Staff at Reception were excellent, very helpful when needed e.g. booking our dog in at the local vet for his UK return. The grounds are extensive which made it a perfect site for walking our dog. The walks around the lakes and in the woods were often very quiet and it was wonderful to witness otters swimming and playing in the lake. The coast is just 20 minutes away and we strongly recommend St. Gilles-Croix-De-Vie and Les Sables d'Olonne as well worth a visit for the restaurants, markets, marinas and sea front. There are many forest walks in the area, again ideal for dog-walking. In conclusion, this is a well-run, friendly site with a range of customer nationalities including French (always a good sign).

Wonderful site

We are a family of 5 and stayed in August, so the site was at its busiest. It is in a lovely setting in the grounds of a chateau with so much for adults and children to do, or not to do if they choose. All the pitches are of a really generous size with water and waste included. We were in the newer section which still has some shade, but not as much as the older section. Depending on your preference, you can ask to be in either. The showers blocks are clean and modern, the atmosphere is really friendly and all in all, it is a superbly run site, by a very pleasant owner, Axel, who is always visible and actively tries to speak to the guests. There are two heated swimming pools, one only for swimming and general peace on one side of the chateau, and the other is covered with a good water slide. There is so much space to wonder about and the children can roam around safely. The courtyard has some excellent entertainment on offer, along with a good bar and restaurant. There is also an excellent adventure park (chargeable) which will also keep everyone active. The site is much more spacious than those nearer the coast but we found it very easy to get to the seaside when we managed to drag ourselves away. In summary, this is a very well run site and we would recommend it to couples and families alike.

Chateau La Foret

Excellent site for the active family , loads and loads for you to do both on the site and close by. Pitches are all over the place I would advise going with the super pitches as some of the normal ones are overlooked by static caravans ( which mine was ). This site isn't a quite place but then there is always something happening you can't have it both ways . Would definitely stay again . Staff were awesome both helpful and friendly .
