Nice site, shame about the shade! Picture is not of this site!

I don't know where the photo on the caravan club page for this site comes from, but there aren't any pine trees......just lots of oak! We arrived at this site on a lovely sunny day. The site is so covered in mature oak trees though, that most, if not nearly all, of the pitches are totally shaded. We didn't really consider this a problem initially, but soon realised there was no sun at all on the pitch, and so if we wanted to sunbathe the poolside was the only option. Not a problem we thought.....except, as it is a smallish pool there is no lifeguard which meant that loads of teenage kids were dive hombing into the pool constantly which meant I daren't read my kindle for fear of it getting wet. (A proper book would have fared no better!) it was not possible to relax there. The evening entertainment on the first night we were there was fab, a traditional Spanish group. Unfortunately, every night after was awful. Bad talent shows. Reps trying, but failing, to be funny/act/sing. No opportunity for English kids to join in. A real disappointment. The site does have a pets corner, and a nice little play area to occupy children. Facilities are dated, but kept very clean. Take your own toilet roll though, as they don't provide it. Also, we did eat at the restuarant twice, and the food was brilliant both times. The area is fab, loads to go and do and see, and we really liked popping over into Spain and back. The Rhune train is great, and the caves nearby. The home of Edmond Rostand at Arnarga is also well worth a visit. We would go back to the area, but we won't go back to the site.
