We will be returning.

Beautiful, lovely - cannot wait to return and visit some of the local vineyards for tasting & purchasing. Facilities great and clean - even has dishwashers. A peaceful site and the local town is sweet (try the fromagerie and cremerie) and Chateau Brissac worth visitng.

A One Night Stop Over

We have stayed here previously a few years ago but this time is was for just 1 night on our way up France. A lovely welcome at Reception on arrival and a choice of pitches. We opted for one close to reception and enjoyed the benefit of good quality wifi. I can't comment on what the wifi is like elsewhere on site. A well stocked shop with bread available for pre order. The site now has more cabins than when we came before but there were plenty of touring pitches available. We used the old small shower block as it was closest to our pitch but it has to be said, the showers are poor and seemed to only have 2 settings, too hot or cold. We managed. The newer (main) shower blocks looked very nice but we didn't use them. We would visit again if we were in the area.

Booked 4 nights, stayed 3.

Not able to comment on family as we were just 2 adults. Access tight over narrow bridge, advertised as walk to village by the river NOT suitable for disabled people, therefore no suitable route to other amenities . Left early as roads are dusty and staff constantly speeding by in golf buggies creating clouds of dust which covered outdoor meals!

Flipping lovely

What a lovely, peaceful site. Hard to decide what we liked best: - wildlife is positively encouraged resulting in a wide range of birdsong. Added to that was the sound of croaking frogs from the fishing pond (don't pitch up too near the pond if you're a light sleeper) - large, tidy pitches - friendly, helpful staff - a 10 minute cycle or 20 minutes walk into the lovely town of Brissac with its chataeu, pleasant parkland and good places to eat. - the energetic maintenance/cleaning team who kept the site and facilities spotless.

Lovely peaceful site

Lovely site. Clean, peaceful, with attentive staff. Most of the pitches were generous. We were there in low season: but the showers etc are not numerous, so may be stretched in peak periods. A little gem!

Spacious pitches and peaceful site

Very green and spacious pitches for a restful stay with delightful staff. Convenient to walk along the small river into Brissac where there is a market on Thursdays and is a lovely little town with cafes and restaurants. Excellent warm pool. Note dogs are not allowed in most Loire chateau as we found with our dog! Angers is a very interesting city to visit with free secure van parking right on the edge of the city. Had to give family review to complete this review but we didn't have any with us!

Excellent and incredible value

Stayed here for 4 nights in May. Very helpful staff who couldn’t do enough for you. Excellent day in town Brissac just a 20 minute walk away on market day Thursday. Angers for a day trip, lovely city well worth visiting and a locked car park just for motorvans and coaches on the edge of town. Huge pitches fully serviced with excellent shade and loads of choice ( yes this is mid May). Almost deserted heated swimming pools. Very attractive grounds with a free fishing lake if that’s your thing. Can’t believe this place and all for £17 a night. They also support local disabled people with work which is nice to see. Restaurant and bar not open when we attended not sure why.

Returning again

We stayed here last June and really enjoyed it so we decided to book again in the hope that it was still as good 14 months on. The staff were very efficient and made us feel very welcome. The pitches are spacious and we had one well away from the lake which helped reduce the number of mozzies. We were looking to relax for the week and hoped to do a vineyard tour when the grapes were ripe. We booked onto a tour which also included wine tasting - and it was very informative (do not do it if you have mobility issues as it is across quite a few vineyards). We also recommend a visit to Anger and its Chateau. This is a great day out and the Chateau is not expensive. we hoped that the site would be as good as it was previously and we were not disappointed. We enjoyed our visit and found the staff to be very friendly and we also felt that the company ethos was commendable.

august 2019

We stopped of for 4 nights on the way up to Caen but wished we'd been able to stay longer. Good points: The site was very attractive with a fishing lake and stream running through it had a really relaxed feel to it, being really well laid out in little areas so that it didn't feel too expansive. There was a scenic walk along the stream into the nearby town of Brissac and the other way away from the town (although we didn't explore this). Staff were helpful and friendly. The restaurant was well run with excellent food and friendly staff. Pools were clean and attractive to sit by- not too busy either. Pitches were very private with hedging and the washrooms were very clean. Close to nearby towns. Bad points: Not much! But the closest village did not have much in it (bar/restaurants etc.) so book if you are aiming to eat out!

High hopes - disappointed!

Having stayed in the Loire valley twice before, we were hopeful of a further good experience ... but alas, we arrived for our three night stay later in July only to find we were allocated a pitch amongst the overnight stayers and surrounded by young families - many with babies! When asked about their pitch allocation policy, this was apparently not done deliberately - yes well my name might as well be Mickey Mouse! We were in the second rank of pitches very close to the childrens' play area; swimming pool complex and reception / main entrance in and out and we had a general footpath next to our pitch .... so very little privacy either then and there were large numbers of equivalent pitches standing empty further back in the site. The shower & loo facilities were okay and the pool complex also looked very good. The shop; bar and restaurant were staffed by some very hard working staff who were also very courteous but, our overall feeling was of needing some serious peace and quiet - meaning this was not a good experience for us. Consequently, we will probably not return!!!
