SUMMER 2022

Pitches - good size pitches but the lack of pathways around the site meant that people were taking shortcuts through other pitches to get to the facilities. Sanitary Facilities - plentiful but could be cleaner OnSite bar / restaurant - reasonable Comments: Well placed for visiting the local chateaux of which there are plenty. The site has direct access to the cycle route which are good but could be better signposted. Too many unruly adults in the pool for our liking and perhaps for the safety of the children using the pool.

Lovely site in a great location

Lovely site with a very relaxing atmosphere. Immaculate toilets maintained to a very high standard. Appearance suggests these are brand new and have been clearly been well thought out. Plenty going on including bar, restaurant and takeaway as well as site shop. Good swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers but no parasols. We had a bad location for our pitch probably because we were only staying for a couple of nights, and were located next to the Motorhome emptying point, so we got the odd whiff of the drains. However that does not detract from the overall site layout and facilities. Great area for cycling and the wonderful Châteaux Cheverny less than a mile from the site. This will definitely be on our list to stay again and definitely for longer next time. Highly recommend. An excellent site.

Good site however

Their are 2 shower blocks which were immaculate however the newer block was open to the elements which during our stay was freezing. Told the restaurant was going to be open but it was only a takeaway menu which you could eat in there bar area. Nice swimming pool, the staff speak excellent English and are very friendly. Site is in a good location although you may have to travel some distances for some attractions.

A Family Friendly Site.

We enjoyed a lovely week the ambience of the site was all that one could wish for, everyone spoke to each other either to chat or just to pass the time of day, The staff were visible on site all day and created a very friendly atmosphere I only wish we had booked for the two weeks we were in the Loire instead of moving to another site further along the valley, the second site was ok but it was Company run and lacked the same atmosphere, it was as different as chaulk and cheese. We would like to visit again if France will allow us in after Brexit!!

Really nice site

Enjoyed a 3 night break en route to our main holiday in Northern Spain. This is a really nice site with good facilities including a small semi indoor pool, very clean toilets and showers , restaurant and small shop. Pitches are of a good size with plenty of shade on sandy/ soil. Nice play area adjacent to pitches and a unique nature. fitness trail. Site is situated within 10 mins of motorway and very close to a large chateau. This site is quite small and had a nice relaxing feel about it.

Well cared for site

We stayed at Les Saules for a one night stop over in mid-June on route further to the south east during our French odyssey and found it to be nicely presented. The warmth of the welcome and helpfulness of staff was very good - as were the provision of facilities - extremely clean. The pitching was of free choice to the caravaner and was of approximately 10m x 12m which was shaded by tall silver birch trees which allowed dappled sunlight through. The grass had been clipped very short which rendered it slightly muddy after some heavy rain in the preceding weeks. The only downside for us was the length of the walk to dispose of grey water (to the block at the back edge of the site) and having to take one's own loo paper along when those facilities were needed! Pool; bar and restaurant were all very good, and there is a large supermarket (some 3 miles away) which supplements the limited provisions available from the site shop. We would agree with a previous reviewer who said that this site deserves more time being spent there. We may well do that when we return!!

A beautiful site in a lovely area

A lovely site with very friendly and helpful staff - the management are very hands-on, friendly and keen to ensure that you have the best possible stay. Lovely pool, spotless facilities, great restaurant and bar with excellent food. The wildlife on site is truly amazing, I was hand feeding birds from our pitch and a tally had a great tit land on my knee!! There are some great chateaux to visit in the area. Just one little word of caution, if you are following Caravan Club directions, the road layout in Coeur Cheverny has been changed so the route is slightly different - there is now a roundabout where the directions indicate traffic lights.A lovely site highly recommended and well worth a visit.

Pleasant Site

Unfortunately we were only able to stay one night. The pitches are quite close together and some are back to back, which for us was not a problem, but if you have children could be. The facilities let the site down they are in need of upgrading. The pitches can be strewn with leaves and whilst we were there very dry and dusty this had been caused by the extreme heat that the area had experienced recently. The restaurant and bar are small but adequate although a little limited on what was on offer. Swimming pool was excellent. The site also offers transport links to the local Chateau (Must Visit) and towns along with Car and Bicycle hire. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this site but if I was travelling in the area I wouldn't hesitate to use it again and probably this time stay a bit longer to really get a feel for what I think could be an excellent site.

A Gem

Beautiful site, close the town of Blois and the delights of the Loire Valley.  The gorgeous Chateau de Cheverny is a very pleasant, off road, walk (or cycle) away.  The site is well laid out in woodland with shaded pitches, the pool is great and the staff very helpful.  Only moan is that there may be a bit of a voltage issue with the electrics, our fridge and those of others nearby, was showing a supply fault and regularly defaulted to gas.  Would definitely visit again.
