Fun to be had but noisy

Firstly the review by BARHAMS does not relate to this site - I think a mistake was made there. We stayed at Parc la Clusure for five nights in August. This is a large site which is very busy at the height of summer. The guests were overwhelmingly Dutch and everything is very much set up for Dutch speakers which we are not. The staff were helpful and friendly though and did speak English. The site and facilities were clean and tidy. The little shop is useful. The site seems very popular with Dutch families with children of all ages including teenagers, as well as couples and there was entertainment every evening which was popular. The pool is small and with the number of people of all ages trying to swim, it was not much fun. The downside for us was the noise. The evening entertainment was extremely loud and went on to around 11pm every evening. We did enjoy the band that played one evening but other than that it was not really for us, and was all in Dutch eg the bingo. The other source of noise was the trains. The track runs immediately adjacent to the entire length of the site. The trains run from early in the morning to late at night. At first we thought they would be OK, but combined with noise of the evening entertainment, it was too much for us. Having said all that, once the entertainment and trains had stopped for the night it was very quite. Because of the noise we would not return to this site.
