Very disappointing visit

This site comprises mainly of chalets, as our visit was towards the end of the season, most of these chalets were closed up, consequently the site at first appeared very quiet. Touring pitches are a little remote, being on the outside of the chalets facing a large field and during our week there we only had 2 neighbours. Our visit got off to a bad start when, arriving at our allocated pitch we found it occupied by a French couple and their caravan. On enquiring as to the reason for them to be on the pitch allocated to us it appeared they didn't like their pitch and had decided to move. A complaint to reception merely saw us allocated the other couples pitch, which had a tree located in the middle of the pitch making access very difficult. One thing we had not planned for was the prescence of swarms of mosquitoes which were everywhere. Before we managed to visit a pharmacy and a local supermarche to purchase sprays etc. we both collected in excess of 40 bites. Only one toilet block was open, there were plentiful wash basins but no plugs and with very low water pressure. There were only 3 showers for men and 3 for women and they were accessed from the outside, so not ideal. In fact during our stay we used only the facilities of our van. On the Friday night a large youth group arrived and set up in a nearby barn, the very loud disco started at 10pm and went on till 3.30 the next morning. On Saturday night it again started at 10pm, finishing at 2.30, and was then followed at 5.30 by a large group having a farewell party on the field opposite. All in all we were very disappointed with our visit and will not be visiting again.
