I love Duinrell

This August is the 10th time we've visited Duinrell but was the first time we brought our own van, we usually hire one of the statics. I have given Duinrell a five star rating because we love coming here, in the past I've brought all my now grown up children and we still come with my now 14 year old. The park offers so much, the village is lovely with some great eating places. We have never had cause to complain when hiring the statics but there was just a couple of things we didn't find great about bringing our own van. First of all was the lack of organisation of siting the vans/tents/trailertents. We were just given a pitch number and sent on our way but when we got there people were just parked wherever they liked, some were parked side on, others parked at the far left of the pitch others at the far right which left us with about a 2 foot gap between the front of our awning and the back of our neighbours motorhome. Anyway luckily the motor home went after 2 nights and was replaced by a tent which gave us more room and a better view. Another issue was the lack of drainage, I am in no way blaming the park for the bad weather we experienced of course but it rained really hard a couple of times and every time it rained the water came up through the ground sheet in the awning and became a bit of a mud bath. Maybe hard standings would prevent this problem? I must stress though we thought these minor inconveniences and on the whole I would still recommend the park to families, we would still go again and we did have a fabulous time.
