This is a family run site and we've just returned from our second visit, the first being six years ago. The views are stunning and the evening lightening storms are amazing. Plenty to do in terms of local history, cycling, walking and there is good access to Bellagio, Como, Milan and St. Moritz. Locally, the waterfall at Chiavenna is a must see, Colicco and Gravadona along with Menagio are great places to go with plenty of restaurants/bars serving great food in lovely surroundings. In the village of Sorrico there is a fantastic bakery but get there early as the freshly baked brioche and bread sell out quickly! Spluga pizzeria and restaurant is a must go to, sit outside to fully appreciate the waiters fate....... If you successfully navigate your way through the tunnels you'll find a friendly welcome awaits from Anna and the team at La Riva. The pool, toilets/showers and service areas are spotless. The added bonus is direct access onto the lake. The only thing that stops me giving the place a 5 is the wifi being largely limited to the reception/bar area.
