EARLY SPRING 2022

We stayed at the site when it was in the process of readying itself for the summer. The site was in good condition and pitches were big enough. Sanitary facilities were clean and plentiful. The location is excellent for a beach holiday; miles of sandy beach is just over the bank from the site. The bar and restaurant are well priced and the staff very welcoming We would imagine that it could be a bit frenzied at the height of summer but we were winter visitors so it was generally quiet.

Summer 2015

Big site with excellent facilities.  Pitch allocation is poorly controlled and left to you to find a free pitch and return to the reception with the number.  Did this twice after discovering the pitch selected wasn't available, but they couldn't say which pitches were free !!!  Pitches are too small for even a medium sized van, awning and car and many pitches were taken for car parking, limiting choice.  Security only acted on busy weekend periods when the locals couldn't get a pitch and could do a lot better. Facilities were excellent, staff generally helpful but the reception is e trembly busy all the time and a little disorganised.  Staff could be a little more helpful to enquirers such as bus timings.  Instead of handing the District timetable they could just show the one that runs from the camp or explain the timings. Noisy site during the day but peaceful enough through the night.

BIG Commercial site with lots to do...

Just back from staying at this campsite (1st week of July 2015), thrilled with the facilities, but it is not for you if you want peace and quiet. We booked through the club, the large pitch was separately confirmed via phone by the club before our booking was finalised, as has been previously described. I emailed the site beforehand to check they had my booking, but I needn't have worried. Make no mistake, this site is BIG - if you, like us, have 3 kids, there is no shortage of stuff to do, you won't see them all week. If they are not on the beach, in the pools (4 of), in the crazy golf or on the football / basketball pitch playing in an impromptu "international" they could be in the shop, supermarket, one of the cafes, outdoor gym or doing an exercise class in the shaded arena beside the petanque pitches. By night, the music is LOUD, but gives you a choice of 2 or 3 places to socialise with reasonable quality (sometimes excellent) live music. The small pitches are indeed small, I would recommend paying extra for a larger pitch, when you will have ample room. The site feels safe and secure, security staff on hand 24 hours a day and always friendly. Reception could probably book you a trip to the moon if you asked nicely, they seem to be able to do everything else... we went to this site due to its location and facilities and we admit were a little nervous given previous reviews, but aside from the late night music we couldn't fault the site. It has clean-knocked the kids previous favourite site off the top spot, and hopefully more families will consider going there in the future.
