Lovely in the off peak season.

We last came to Trevilliere in 2017. It's a fairly standard French campsite, but we choose it for its location at Bretignolles sur Mer and it is reasonably priced. The pool is heated, another plus. The toilet block near the pool has been revamped since our last visit but the shower block with the laundry room is looking tired. The pitches can be varied in size but large enough for car, caravan and awning. The site was lovely and quiet when we arrived in the middle of June but it's getting busy now it's July. Pizzas, chips and burgers are served in the bar,and Moules Frites once a week. If we came again, we would ask if it's schools week which we are told is a regular event on the site calendar. A coach full of teenagers are here at the moment which means that the pool area is crowded and noisy with disco music and there's a queue for the showers at peak times. Evening entertainment started on 1st of July and usually finishes at 11pm to 12pm and sounds ok. Next time we would ask for a pitch away from the bar area, due to the fact that there are people in the bar area until 2am and they are very loud .We have complained about the 2am finish, but the chap on reception just shrugs .We would have asked for a different pitch if we knew that there would be so much noise after the official entertainment had finished.

June/Sept.

Out of season this is a great site & excellent value for money, we have been here for 7 straight years. In the main season i.e. school holiday periods I understand that it is very noisy and busy. Toilets & showers are in need of updating so we used caravan shower. Shower block away from the pool area is much better although again could do with update. Nice pool and great to be able to walk into town.

Please note there are no chemical disposal points. We were told to use the 1st toilet in the main toilet facility, which differed only in that there was a hose pipe in it. There was crap all over the floor which could only be cleared by washing it under the cubicle next door! The rest of the toilet facilities were very poor. Definitely unhygienic. Apart from this and the noise at night it was ok.

We were extremely disappointed on arrival at this site. The quality of the pitch was poor, sloping, which we weren't expecting and full of pot holes, which made pitching tricky. All of our children refused to use the toilets and showers on site because they were so dirty. Very noisy site with a number of single sex groups making it an unpleasant stay. After 5 days on this noisy site, with the fantastic help of the caravan club we relocated to a great site in St, Emillion which saved our holiday

Campsite issues

The campsite was not as good as we have had over the years with the live music and DJ nights being far too loud.  The musical events didn't finish until near midnight which was not very good for our grandchildren at 18months and 5 years of age.  The location of British, Dutch and French caravanners, campers etc., was very segregated and we felt as if we were all in our own plots which was a shame, not really a great way to meet other nationalities.

End of season

We visited this site the week before the end of its opening period therefore the site appeared a little tired and this was not helped by high winds and torrential rain and leaves twigs and branches falling from the many trees. That said one could easily see the sites potential with very big, hedged pitches, lots of stand pipes for fresh water many toilet blocks (the water was a little cool) nice bar patio and both indoor and outdoor pools. The location is great, close but not too close to the beaches, easy cycling to the town which offers all the facilities one could ask for and some really good restraunts. Very pleasant staff. We will be back but earlier in the season

We like this site

My son and I feel quite loyal to this site, this is the third year we have been there and again had a great time.  The site is great for teenagers due to the rallies which go there and although we are not part of the rally we are always made to feel extremely welcome; my now 16 year old has never failed to find friends, a happy son makes a happy mum! The site has interesting entertainment, which can only be heard if you are pitched close to the bar.  Other sites entertainment can be heard sometimes as can music from the lake.  The new, upgraded Super U is huge and the market is always good for a wander.  Bikes are a bonus, but the village is walkable, however to walk to the beach is quite an outing!  (Quite a distance, especially for a sandy beach). Simon, Pierre and all the staff work very hard to make sure you have a pleasurable stay.  Thank you.

Loved it - Again - Great Holiday ....

This was our 3rd visit and yet another great time was had.... Whilst this is not the most luxurious site, or one with the best facilities, it absolutely never fails to provide a great holiday experience and a great time. The pool is appreciated by the (now) teenagers, the bar and terrance has been extended this year and the whole site has a great atmosphere about it. The local area has plenty to do, and is one of my personal favourite areas of France.  Locally there is a great Zoo at Le Sables d'Olonne, walking in the salt marshes, great beaches in the town, and slightly further away in the forrest, with waves for novice body boarders or suffers alike ..... Bretignolles itself is a lovely french resort town with all the facilities you need, cafes, places to eat and a huge new "Super U" supermarket !!! Great holiday, great site, friendly helpful staff - will no doubt go again.
