Big and busy

Despite it's excellent location for an overnight stop we found that many campers were staying longer and taking a holiday here. Very well run, big, busy site with excellent facilities for families. Just watch out for mosquitoes as soon as the sun sets, and don't go to the lake at weekends when the whole of Troyes comes for a day out with BBQs and portable speakers unless you like the pop festival vibe. Brilliant site for cycling because the terrain is flat and paths go round the lake and through the woods. The medieval city of Troyes is well worth a visit with small art gallery and interesting cathedral.

MSW Holiday 2023

Found this site a bit too close to other people and not much privacy, felt a bit hemmed in. The outside location was very beautiful and water was very clean and a part was used for dogs which my two choc labs loved.

Nice enough site, very busy, good location.

This is a nice enough site in a good location, but avoid weekends when it gets incredibly busy with day visitors to the lake. We stopped here overnight on our way home from the south and whilst on the face of it everything was fine, we found it to be a site that didn’t give us a good ‘feel’, why? We’ll I think it was a combination of being very busy, you could hardly move in the pool and those in the pool were boisterous older children, so it wasn’t great for younger kids, our pitch wasn’t the best, probably because we were over-nighters, and the lake whilst ok, had a beach made from crushed rock, so at the water line it was muddy rather than sandy. I don’t think we would come back, purely because we didn’t get a good vibe from the site.

A large site well supplied with good resources

Probably a larger site than is our preference so it was busy and lively. Aits location next to the lake offers lots of opportunities for water sports and the cycle network is superb - just about 30 km right around the lake. The entertainment programme is family friendly. The shop although a little pricey has everything that you might need in the way of essentials and you can order bread and croissants each day - the queue for collection can leave you waiting a while. The pool complex is good although the main pool is quite small. The pitch with on-site water and drainage is a great option. Whilst only here for 3 days it is a spot I would use again and the transit to Dunkerque was very easy and took about 4 hours

Lovely stay

Stayed for 2 nights in June 2022. Was very hot so really appreciated the pools and water slides. Indoor pool rather cold. Large site and pretty full but still quiet at night. Really good shower/toilets, very clean and modern. Small useful shop and restaurant. Cycled round part of lake and on cycle route beside river to local village. Located just by a beach, very busy at the weekend. Would stay here again if passing on route.

Excellent stop over site in champagne area

This was the first site on a 3 week tour. It is approx 400km from Zeebrugge. Site is well located close to Lake resort which is beutiful with excellent facilities which are well used by locals. The lake is a few minutes walk away. Pitches are good size and excellent value. Worth noting there is a new Leclerc supermarket just after you leave the motorway which is going to have a fuel staion added in a few weeks time. There is a small village with bakery etc about 1 Km away. There is a nice restaurant with lake views just across from site entrance which is good value. On good idea is they do not allow footwear in shower area and have shelves at entrance for your shoes. Would be happy to return.

Great site for stop over or longer stay

This was the 3rd time we stayed here previously were stopovers and decided we would like to stay longer .The stay coincided with the heatwave. The pitch that was reserved for us was large at 156m2 offering good shade .The facilities were kept clean. The onsite shop was well stocked with essentials.Few minutes walk to the lake where there are snack bars and water activities.Good access from A26 .We hope to return next year.

Excellent site

This has to be one of the best sites we have ever stayed at. The pitches are large and well laid out. The facilities are definitely the best we have ever encountered. The on site shop has essentials and of course you can order croissants and bread daily. The on-site restaurant does good takeaways as well as dining in. The location beside the Lac d'Orient is lovely and there is a nice lakeside beach. The pool and children's play areas looked good.

STOPOVERS AUGUST 2018

We used this site as a stopover both on our outward & return journeys; there are two motorway junctions 20 minutes or so from the site. The staff were very welcoming and English is spoken if needed. Pitches seemed generally of good size and most have shade; the site facilities are good - excellent sanitary block but the pool area seemed small and always crowded. We did not use the restaurant but chose to eat off site in one of the food outlets along the side of the lake. It's worth pointing out, certainly at weekends, that the lake is very popular and some patience is needed to get to the site entrance getting through the crowds and many cars. I would imagine for families with smaller children this site would be ideal; there is the 'Nigloland' theme park nearby but we felt it was too busy for us in terms of a longer stay. Having said that, in the evenings we were there, things quietened down around 11pm. There is a 24/24 filling station in Lusigny sur Barse nearby which we found useful.
