This site is only a short distance from the A8 along good roads. For the last few hundred yards the road is narrow, but visibility is good and most of the traffic is from the two campsites.
The owners, Aline and Stephan, live on site and they or one of their team are always visible ‘doing things’. For example, when we were there in September the worn grass areas were being reseeded ready for next year. This reminded us very much of the attention to detail seen on Club sites in the UK, which is probably why we felt so comfortable there. The toilets, showers, wash up and laundry are squeaky clean and there is always hot water. Everything about the site is immaculate, including the pitches and even the recycling area. Our grass super pitch was a good size and fairly flat, with a view down to Lake Thun and up to the mountains.
The location is rural but it is an easy walk along back roads into Interlaken. There are plenty of walking and cycling opportunities directly from the site and lots of things to do without travelling too far. Guests get a Visitors Card which gives free travel on local transport and substantial discounts at many attractions. Leaflets and advice are available from reception.
On Friday evenings and Saturday mornings the nearby rifle range was operating, but otherwise all was peace and quiet, just the donging of cow bells.
