Peaceful site.

A bit of a mixed bag, mainly good but with some problems. Arrival at site wasn't the best, unlike the previous reviewers experience, the young man who met us at reception couldn't have seemed less interested. We weren't given any local information, or a choice of pitches (even though most pitches were empty), just given a hand drawn map and sent on our way. The 'super' pitch we were allocated had access that was difficult to enter with a car, never mind an 8 metre caravan, and it nearly burnt out the clutch shunting backward and forwards for 20 minutes. Once set up it seems you have to get your waste water to run uphill to use the drain on the pitch, so we had to resort to the Wastemaster. In fairness, we saw plenty of others arrive, and they were shown to their pitches and given useful info, so maybe just avoid the guy who works at reception. The site itself is lovely, the pitches were big, with a little levelling required. A little noise from a party at the Chateau one night, but not enough to keep us awake. There is a nice pool, which was empty most of the time, and a small bar/restaurant which opens from 5pm daily. There is a small shop, which stocks very little, but you can order bread etc for the following day. Good toilets and showers, and you even get given tokens to use the onsite 5 minute dishwashers each day, something we've never encountered before.
