Fabulous Week

We spent a fabulous week on this site at the end of June. We found the staff extremely helpful, friendly and spoke great English. We participated in an organised wine tasting where we learnt that the site employs local disabled people to assist in the grounds and facilities giving them skills and support. The site own their own vineyard (we also recommend the vineyard tour). They are a not for profit organisation and put profits back into assisting their staff which we felt was great. Lots to do in the area. Do visit the Chateaux in the area. Brissac is a short stroll along the river and worth a visit. Saumur is also worth a visit and has 100km of tunnels below the city. We visited Maison Louis de Grenelle wine cave which was great value (30 min tour of the caves plus 5 wines to taste for 3 euro each) We found the site quiet and relaxing with both an outdoor and covered pool. Unfortunately we found the bar closed early 2100 but this could have been because we visited in low season. We ate in the restaurant twice and found the food to be value for money and good quality. We would also recommend buying their wine. We would consider going back as there was so much in the area that we didn't get to explore and this was a great relaxing base
