What A Find, What A Place, What an experience

Having never toured abroad before, we weren't sure what to expect. but in short, HOW EASY IS TOURING IN FRANCE!!!. This site is just outside Bourg-Saint- Maurice so it's a long way down. Not an issue... Traffic levels in France are so light, the journey is easy and as we broke the journey up by stopping over night in Troyes on the way down, we arrived fresh and ready to enjoy ourselves. On arrival, Sebastien and Stephanie have pretty good english, so we were never in difficulty with the language and they give us good instructions and a choice of pitches. The pitches are all bordered by hedges. This is great for privacy but it does mean getting the van in to our chosen pitch was a bit tight, we have a motor mover so had no difficulty, but i think it would have been a difficult reverse to that pitch. Other pitches though were not an issue.. The facilities are spotless and are cleaned from about 8:00 am every morning, The weather.... is amazing. temperatures in excess of 30 degrees every day, but the evening cools down enough to allow sleeping without any difficulty. The pool is small but was never over crowded and we were there for two weeks in Mid July 2018. On site there is a small bar where you can get drinks and a limited menu of Pizza and snacks etc. As for the Location, imagine, sitting on the side of the pool, in 35 degrees, looking up at the breath taking view of snow capped mountains. Amazing.... If that's not enough, the site is located at the side of a river and cycle /pedestrian path which you can walk or ride along and watch the paragliders and water sport enthusiasts do their thing. (Bikes are available for Hire from the campsite). Adjacent to the campsite entrance there is also a water sports centre with a nice cafe where you can eat on the balcony and watch the kayaks and rafters go by. Landry is a small village but it has a Pub and a Hotel that both do excellent food. 6Km up the road is Bourg Saint Maurice with its excellent restaurants and bars. All around, there are the ski stations of Les Arcs, Pleissy Vallandry, La Rosier, La Plagne. In short there is so much to see and do here, two weeks was not enough. Being picky, being that close to a river means that for the first few nights, whilst sat out enjoying a glass of wine, the river noise is definitely noticable although for us was not an annoyance. What was a little annoyance was the fact that on our pitch there was an ants nest in the corner so don't leave an orange juice on the table in the awing over night.... So to sum up, What A Find, What A Place, What an experience, cant wait to get back there next year
