kayaking on the Tarn

Pool nice and clean, the jacuzzi was sometimes spoilt with teenagers bombing into it, it was lovely and warm. The lifegaurd tended to ignore any bad behaviour and only picked on certain people who didnt wear the correct swim wear (budgie smugglers!!) We booked a large pitch which backed onto the small road which should be for cycles and runners but cars did speed along sometimes so would go nearer the lake. However the area is fantastic, you want walk in to Millau, the huge market is great. Canoeing is a must along with a drive round the gorge,  visit the viaduct too. the lake/beach area needs a tidy up as weedy and stoney,,take beach shoes. will go back to Millau. The bar and restaurant was nice with good service.

Last Stop

We were given a different pitch to the one we booked as the site had a rather large group of petanque players booked on the site, they gave us a pitch away from the group as they did't want us disturbed by the noise. The Pool is amazing, River was great for the kids to just laze in and there added bonus was that the town of Millau was within walking distance. Will definitely be returning.

Typically French

Nice well situated site with good pools & playground for the children. Silly French rules about only wearing 'budgie smugglers' in the pool though (weird!). No seats on the toilets, so you need to wipe the rim or sit on somebody else's spray (nice) & they don't provide loo paper or soap either. Probably the worst burger I've ever had in the restaurant but they did put a nice treble clef on the side of the plate with sticky sauce. In short, typically French, a good site if you eat out & use your own loo.

going home

This site has good views of the Millau viaduct a fantastic achievment. Being next to the river I would suggest not suitable for young families although older kids will enjoy swimming in it. there are no barriers between site and water. Tranquil surroundings very restful, journey to site rises to 1200 metres roads are narrow no passing and used by lorries. No fun being stuck behind three of them going slow!  scenery worth it when you get to the top then descend to the town.
