Move as soon as you can!!

We arrived here on the 9th October 2024 and why this campsite is still in the overseas book is beyond me!! This is the worst campsite we have ever stayed on. We thought it was a refuge camp! There is fly tipping all outside the campsite and the site is full of permanent Spanish residents plus people using it as a base to work from so comings and going all time of the day and night.its like living on a carpark everyone crammed in no privacy at all .No toilet paper, no soap in the wash basins , the shop stocks very little and closes most part of the day . The swimming pool closes for 2.5 hours every day and is not open on a Wednesday. There is nothing around this site to even visit . Direct access to the beach which is littered with rubbish and the beach bars all boarded up and in a terrible state . The restaurant only opens at midday and doesn’t do any food until 7pm ! Malaga is 30 kilometres from here , so good luck trying to catch the bus, we did and twice it didn’t stop at the bus stop. So unless you want to pay for a taxi you are stranded in this awful place as we only have the Motorhome , So we have booked an independent and we are off to tomorrow! Should have stayed until the 16th but we just have to get out of here . Please caravan and Motorhome club if you value your loyal clients please remove this campsite ASAP !! 4 star I don’t think so 2 star at best .

GO ANYWHERE ELSE

This site is awful and why the CAMC offer this as an overseas holiday site is incomprehensible. This is not a site it is a car park and a large cramped one at that. It is miles away from anywhere albeit that there is direct access to the sea - not a beach worthy of the name Just dont go - pick somewhere else.

An interesting site

All of the pitches are covered with a green mesh sun shade and you feel you are driving into a aircraft hanger with eerie green light. Temperatures in Spain were unusually high when we were there and we appreciated the shade. The facilities are quite good if somewhat unusual in layout. The beach access is immediate from the site. Almayate is about 20 mins walk away and has some shops and a generous helping of restaurants. The site restaurant is excellent, and there is a well stocked shop. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Relaxing if a little out of the way

This was the first year the campsite opened for the winter, we do feel that more could have been made of the restaurant, bar and supermarket as the site is a good walk, or cycle ride, to the nearest restaurant and supermarket. The laundry room had no ironing boards and the hand dryer in the ladies did not work for the time we were there. On the positive side the staff were friendly and helpful. There is direct access to the beach. The toilet block was spotlessly clean.
