Good site for D-Day beaches

This was a great site for exploring the D-day beaches as it's centrally located. The staff were helpful on arrival and we were delighted with our huge pitch! We could not fault the site at all except for the toilets and showers which, quite frankly, we felt didn't meet with the standards of club sites in the way of cleanliness, so this was rather disappointing and put a bit of a downer on the site really. Lots of dirt in-grained limescale around sinks and on pipes, plus dirt on duck boards and bins in the showers were off-putting for us. Some vents were missing covers on fans, and yes it needs updating, but basic cleanliness should not be lacking. There were no hand drying facilities in one block either. I couldn't really get to grips with having mixed facilities, especially at night being a woman, but that's just me lol! There was however a good pool facility for kids, a pizza kiosk and bar which we didn't go to, but sounded like people were having fun! There is a nice walk from the site to the port too and some small lakes with fishing. Good supermarket in the town (SuperU), which had a gluten free section too.
