Very disappointed.

After travelling here on the bases of this site appearing in the C&MH club website to say its disappointing is the only word I can use. There is lots of noise from dogs barking constantly and the Electric at 10amps was constantly being tripped and it was obvious that the long termers had household electrical appliances and unfortunately however hard the owners tried these people still used them, the longtermers were also very hostile to us and tried to blame us for the electrical problems even though I only had the fridge on and the owner checked my ampage. The toilets and showers were clean and tidy but no hand washing or driers in the toilets and the pool was closed understably at this time of year. The staff were helpful but a lack of information on arrival.if you have a MH then a car hire is essential to visit the area, no local ammenties within walking distance. There are far better sites along the coast towards Tarfia. Sorry camping Roache .

Never Ever Again.

The site seems pleasant enough and we enjoyed our first five days, although the facilities are a bit scruffy in places and need repairs. Missing door latches, problems with drains etc. Shop is OK and bar and restaurant too. The site in early September is quiet in the week, but livens up with locals at the weekend. It could be very pleasant. Pitches can be small, but members are supposed to get double pitches. We did on the first five nights on 212 and 213 but then had to move to a small single pitch only on 212 so 213 could be irrigated. That is why pitches are green and grassy, but at a price. Irrigation is by grey sewage water and we had to move our equipment to a single small pitch to stop it being wet with disgusting, evil smelling grey sewage water which sprayed by our unit all night. Wind blew it onto the pitch we occupied. The smell was nauseating and we could not sit outside. I shudder to think what bugs were in the water. We would never recommend anyone to stay here as pitch irrigation is clearly more important than guests comfort and hygiene. We shall never return. ABSOLUTELY DREADFUL.

Not For us Unfortunately

We arrived on New Years Day having booked through the club to find the reception locked up. We found a Spanish speaking chap who spoke no English and said “hoy cerado”, in other words today we are shut. Fortunately my Spanish is good enough to explain we had a reservation so he let us in on the promise we would go to reception at 8.30 manana. To be fair he was friendly enough and the facilities were decent. The toilets and showers were clean and the hot water plentiful. The site claims “a network of cycle paths running through the forest”. We couldn’t find any that weren’t on private land. We asked the next day when the receptionist arrived but she also spoke no English and perhaps my Spanish isn’t good enough to understand. The beach is an hour away walking briskly. We are Motorhomers with dogs looking for good walks and eating places/bars within walking distance and the site just didn’t suit us. For others looking for a different experience it would be fine.

Roche Never Changes Thank Goodness

It is 2 years since we stayed at Roche but it has not changed. Friendly helpful staff, nice big pool, sanitary facilities good and clean, nice restaurant and useful shop. The town of Conil de la Frontera and its beaches are well worth the journey down to the south coast.

Well organized site, helpful staff, good facilities. Restaurant good but limited out of season. Beautiful scenery & coast nearby - a car drive to Conil

Good location for visiting Cadiz

Stayed 4 nights March 2016.  Virtually deserted a few Dutch, German & English visitors.  About 40 minutes from Cadiz.  Lovely local quiet bays accessed via dirt roads and steep steps/slopes.  Local town Conil lovely Spanish seaside town with lots of restaurants and bars.  The site was only partially open due to season.  Large swimming pool drained, Bar/Restaurant closed early but served reasonable meals.  All staff friendly with good English spoken.  Very rural location with Cockerels crowing, dogs barking and a Donkey kicking off every now and then.  Site well maintained, clean and all facilities clean with plenty of hot water. quite a few cabins and lots of pitches so could see it being a bit noisy in height of season.

Enjoyable stay for a few days

The site was enjoyable, nice outdoor pool which was busy, popular destination for Spanish families, particularly at weekends so can become a little noisy, lots of children running, cycling around the park, playing ball games in the access roads up and down the park. Overall an enjoyable stay but wouldn't want to be there peak season as it's too busy and not a big site. The facilities were more than adequate, clean and tidy. The reception staff were very helpful and accommodating, helping with enquiries. The bar/restaurant was very nice/not over expensive which serves good food with specials. Staff always helpful. The pitches were clean and tidy. There are two pitches per bay, tight for big units but as Caravan Club members we were allocated a double pitch in one bay so plenty of room although there was a tree and a shrub right in the middle which would have devided for two separate pitches. We had electric and water and waste disposal on our pitch. There is good access to the beach not far away on bikes, we walked it once bit far but as runners we could use the side roads and tracks. Can seem a little remote, sat-nav couldn't find it so we guessed and happened to pick up the signs though not well sign-posted until you almost reach the site. Overall a nice experience though not sure if we would go back again as a little too remote for us. Nice for quite get-away out of season during the week.
