Desperate to Get Back There
We stayed here in August 2020 (family of 5) and were desperate to get back in 2021 but couldn't because of travel restrictions. We are booked to return in August 2022.
The location of this site is perfect. Right on the shores of the lake with great access for Paddle Boarding and Kayaking. The lake water is clean and fresh (it's the drinking water for Rome and private boats with motors are not allowed). The owner runs a friendly and welcoming camp with a great restaurant on site. It's a really peaceful place to be and we've booked a longer stay this time.
The toilet / shower facilities are simple and we never had to queue. I'm smiling while thinking about getting back there again in the summer.
It's a short trip into Rome for a day trip and the surrounding towns of Bracciano and Anguillara Sabazia are worth a visit too.
It's a long drive from Calais but with one or two overnight stops, it's easily achievable and worth the time. I'd recommend travelling through Germany and Austria as the lowest cost route.
