We booked this for a 2 night break whilst travelling through to Germany & boy were we disappointed & definitely not worth the £86 + tourist taxes that we paid. The photo on the site makes this site look peaceful & idilic being next to the river. What it doesn't show are the tower blocks, industrial units and the noisy main road opposite and you can't see the river from the site as there is a high hedge in between, obviously to try & block out some of the road noise. The WC block by reception is clean & of a good standard but the main block in the centre of the site is very tired & run down. There are also a lot of seasonal caravans here that look a bit worse for ware & the phrase 'chanty town' sprang to mind. Found the pitch allocated to us too small for our 79-4 too & we had to ask for a different pitch. Luckily there was some at the end that were vacant, don't know what we would have done if they hadn't. Driving in was not very well signposted either. The lady in reception & the lady working in the shop area were very helpful & plesant, however when we returned the next morning the guy that had also been on reception when we arrived was extremely rude when we tried to pay for our baguette with euros, though this was not a problem for the ladies the previous day. We have always tried to use Caravan & Motorhome Club sites in U.K. as we've always found them to be extremely well kept with exception standards. So on our 1st tour abroad we thought it best to stick with them, but big thumbs down on this one & now worrying about our other bookings that we've made through the Caravan & Motorhome club & what to expect.
