Poor location

Poor location - Need a vehicle to get around, absolutely nothing outside of site Bus stop across road for Lagos 6km away, but to get to pria de luz the but stop is out on dual carriageway at next roundabout 10min walk away in heat. 2.5km to walk to Pria de luz but it’s up and down a very steep hill, in heat it’s not for everyone so really description should say vehicle needed to go out of site. Dogs barking lot of the nite, reception say wild dogs ? 5* toilets ( but got our own in motor home, and Wi-Fi around site👍 best bits.) Booked for 14 nites, wanted to change last 7 nites for another CAMC site in Portugal but CAMC wouldn’t agree! Would not come again due to location

A Good but Expensive Holiday Site

One of the few privately owned (Yellow) Caravan sites in Portugal. Economic ACSI pitches are available but I think you have to get there by 10.30 am to get a decent one. The site I imagine is always running at 90-100 % occupancy even for larger more expensive pitches get there as early as possible have a good walk around. Sanitary facilities are excellent and regularly cleaned. Nice but expensive restaurant but a good snack bar with a decent menu. Small shop quite well stocked. Pool is good and they are building a new heated pool. Staff are lovely and of course multi lingual. Regular bus service just outside the gate to Lagos and onward. Major expansion is underway, new bungalows and pitches.

If Carlsberg did toilets and showers.....

A fantastic site. Easy check in at reception. Everyone speaks English. Really nice bar area. Restaurant was a bit of a disappointment having gone for the buffet, our mistake, we should have gone for the A la Carte. Nice looking pool area although we did not use it. The toilets and showers are probably amongst the best you will find anywhere, never thought I could be so enthusiastic about a toilet and shower! Absolutely stunning and a credit to the site. Take a drive to Lagos. Worth the effort to park and walk around the town.

One of the best sites we have been on

We had heard that the site gets busy, even off-season, so we booked well ahead, which was just as well as the site was pretty full (early March). By booking through the Club we had an excellent pitch, with plenty of space and our own water. Reception spoke good English and were very helpful. The toilet block was amazing. It was finished to a very high standard and kept immaculately clean. Absolutely fantastic! Although we didn't actually eat there, the restaurant had an excellent, well-priced menu - far superior to the average site restaurant. The pool area was delightful, with some brave souls actually taking to the waters! We thought that the wifi was good value for money and we were generally able to get a very good signal. Although we cycled, the pretty seaside village of Luz can be easily reached on foot. There is a lovely beach cafe here and beautiful walks along the cliffs. All-in-all we had four very relaxing days here and can highly recommend this outstanding site.

Spotless site

I have never stayed on a site with such high quality shower/sanitary facilities - they really would not disgrace a top hotel. Likewise the swimming pool and its showers/toilets - immaculate. The shop had a good range of produce and staff were very helpful. The Caravan Club pitches had water supply on each pitch. The second sanitary block was being built when we were there, so we were next to a building site (!) but it wasn't really intrusive, even if the view wasn't brilliant. The nearest beach is a drive/good walk/cycle away but it is nice. Lagos is easily reached from the site

Very good site but not perfect

This is our second time here.  This time 17 days mid March.  The site is spotless.  The bar and restaurant are very good (3 course buffet 11.50e). There is a lot of investment being made at the site rebuilding an old toilet block, extending over the back new pitches, refurbishment of swimming pool - all good stuff.  The staff are really friendly and helpful.  The showers are superb.  However as stated it seems to be a victim of its own success.  It is a very full site most times of the year.  The best pitches are pre booked by long term over wintering people who return every year - I was told some pitches are booked 3 years in advance... A lot of pitches are small and most with some form of slope with lots of shade - not good on a cold grey March day.  That said it is a great location to explore the Algarve and Southern West Coast.

Great Site for Western Algarve

We stayed here for three weeks in February.  First impression was how spotless the facilities were!  Great Bar with TV for sport, etc., good bar snacks, as well as separate restaurant.  Pools looked nice, but nobody in them in February.  Site being continuously upgraded in several areas, but the work was not too disruptive.  Reception were very responsive to requests and the odd problem - be sure to upgrade to 10 Amps!  Bus service at site entrance to Lagos and Sagres. Nearest beach is Praia Da Luz, a half-hour stroll away. Our pitch was at the top of the hill. Some said it was the best view on site, but when the 55 MPH wind hit we took the full brunt of it. Fortunately it had been forecast, and we had taken our motorhome awning room down. And the view of the distant hills and wind turbines in the NW told us exactly which way the wind was blowing each day. Can't wait to go back next year - for longer.

Disappointing

Site was completely full, we had booked a big plot as we have a long outfit.  Got allocated a tiny plot at the end of a row, with a huge tree in the middle of it. Took over a hour with movers and lots of help get in.  Very crowded here.  Far too close together too.  WiFi was extra and absolutely hopeless early evening.  Dogs barking most nights from neighbouring houses.  Liked Luz, which is walkable in half a hour, lovely little town with beautiful beach.
