Chasncath cross the Loire

This story happened on: 24/09/2019

Not really a story, but we wanted to try sharing a video. It's about crossing a very high bridge (68m) at St Nazaire. It may seem a bit boring, but at the time I was not looking forward to driving across. I never looked sideways, but the large cruise ships in the ship yard looked tiny!

Hope this works!

Wow. Respect. Well done chasandcath, thanks for posting. Didn't seem as bad as I feared - but I wont be using it either as a driver or passenger!

I hate the QE2 bridge and that has nothing travelling in the opposite direction.

Is it me or the web site? I can't see the video clip on here ad the quoted comments have vanished on the Nantes thread. frown

Been over this bridge twice, wouldn't do it again. You can see it for miles on the north side.  We had stopped at services on the north side and I said to my sister in law wow look at that bridge.  Glad we're not going over that she said, mmm should I keep quiet and say nothing or do I tell her we are!!!!.  I didn't tell her and I'm sure I could hear her swearing in their car following behind us.  She moaned for the whole fortnights holiday that we had to go back over it on the way home.

Will have to give that a go. Last went to Saint Nazaire 30 or more years ago. We found the U boat pens but you couldn't visit them as you can now. Good excuse to revisit and also cross the Bridge.
