Plan B

Plan A was a six-week trip to the Côte d'Azur: a week to get down there; 4 weeks by the Med, and then a week to get back to Calais. Like everyone else, we had to change plan!

Plan B started with a 5-night stay at Moreton-in-Marsh, a site we've visited before but only in winter. This time we found the path through the fields to the high street. The market and weather made it seem almost 'continental'.

We also 'discovered' the path through the buttercups to the arboretum.

To cap off our visit, our friends Tony and Mary (first met at La Croix Valmer) turned up and we had an splendid evening together washing down take-away pizza with a glass of wine.

Our next stop was a CL near Clevedon to visit Keith and Carol ( first met in Croatia) whom we last met in El Berro in 2016 and walked in the hills of Sierra Espuna (see our story 'Walking with Friends). A walk along the prom,

and lunch in the garden made for a very pleasant re-union.

We the headed on down in to Dorset and Seatown. The sun was shining on Golden Cap and the sea and sky were Mediterranean blue.

Our campsite, Golden Cap Holiday Park, is right beside the shingle beach and we could see the sea from our pitch. We turned up too early but that was no problem. Some of the touring pitches are very sloping and we couldn't get level so the staff helped us to move pitch and made sure we were safe and happy once we'd moved.

We couldn't take advantage of the site's location on the coastal path due to mobility limitations but it was delightful to walk down and see the sea and the cliffs, and to sit in the sun.

We did manage to walk into Chideock by a footpath, but there was nothing of interest there (sorry), so we were content to stay by the beach.

We're now on a Cirencester club site, which last visited in 2004 on one of our first trips out in our motorhome. We've still got the same one, 150,000 miles later! We've been in to town via the park,

but the rain is now interrupting play.

We leave on Tuesday for Tewkesbury, not a great distance to travel. We're hoping that there's no flooding!
