1st Class Swiss Holiday. June/July 2019.

This story happened on: 23/06/2019

Firstly we would like to express our thanks to the Overseas booking department of the Caravan and Motorhome Club for the help and advice we received when we booked our annual overseas holiday through the club.

We took out- Just incase Red Pennant travel insurance for both car and caravan for any issues we may have encountered abroad but was not required due to no mishaps but who knows what could ruin an expensive trip.

This year we booked Lazy Rancho in Interlaken Switzerland having been recommended by a Caravan&Motorhome club member last year when we stayed at Gemmi camp near Sion Switzerland another gem of a campsite, where they had once stayed a couple of years earlier, Lazy Rancho's owners could not have done anything more to have made our stay any better, the campsite was impeccably spotless the shower/toilet buildings were cleaned twice a day something the owners changed this year as they have taken on more tents moving the pitches around to create more space as July is a little more busy, Also our 1st week the campsite was fully booked due to a VW campers club rally some extra 35 vehicles and although it was full we didn't notice the extra load on the campsite. Also to comment on and although we booked a service pitch is that other outfits mostly motorhomes Micheal the site owner had all the grey waste connected to the main drains even caravans who were not on service pitches they were also connected where possible to the grey waste even though the service areas were easily accessible he must have had shares in grey waste pipe manufacturers.

There was a strict no noise after 10pm till 07.30 even the recycling bins were closed, the camp shop was well stocked and quite reasonable prices too, another item to mention is that the campsite owner had loan of butane/propane cylinders just incase you mis judge your gas levels middle of a bbq?  to add the site was in easy reach of local transport with a free bus pass from the site and an excellent walk into town through a well sign posted housing development with house owners having large gardens with tortoise pens as pets by the footpath, Well a nature reserve on hand, and an aircraft museum, well an aviation enthusiast something or other for someone to look for half a Swiss fighter plane sticking out the side of a building,YES really, I have the photo to prove it,  What more could entertain you apart from the snow capped mountains to look at, and also excellent walks through the forests.

Overall a well appointed Swiss campsite with large pitches well cut and neat hedges and no noise, apart from the Swiss airforce who like to show off their aircraft Monday to Friday, not previous paragraph, thats if you can spot them in the cloudless blue skies, a well earned holiday on a well kept site, What more would you expect from The Caravan and Motorhome Club? We will be returning next year with Italy being mentioned.

We can surely recommend Lazy Rancho to anyone who wants a gem of a Swiss campsite easily located to the motorway network with lots to offer.

Regards

Dave and Jacqui

Thank you for your comprehensive contribution but I think you may have intended to post this as review? If that was the case it has been posted in the wrong place and unfortunately it can't be moved to the correct location. I will try and get the Community Manager to contact you so that you can resubmit in the correct place.

Thanks

David
