Traditional Caravanning

This story happened on: 02/03/2012

On my very first caravan trip, in 2007, I set out from Norwich, and stayed first of all at Cherry Hinton CC site, Cambridge, moved on to Wyatt's Covert CC site, Denham, and went on to my destination, Bladon Chains CC site, near Woodstock, Oxford. My objective was to visit the Cotswolds, where I was stationed in the Royal Air Force in the early 1970s (at RAF Kemble). One day, when I was visiting the historic town of Malmesbury, I came across the ultimate caravanning outfit- the tow vehicle was definitely one horse power!

What a lovely story.  About 4 years ago we saw a family in one just down the road from here in Suffolk. I have a photo of that somwhere.

I think there used to be some businesses that used to hire out horse drawn traditional caravans for holidays- local trips in quiet rural areas only, of course.
