Why stay here ...

Situated in lush countryside, on the banks of the river L’Homme. A stay at La Clusure offers walking and fishing along the river banks as well as many fun activities on site. The brand new pool complex including a water slide and indoor pool will be a hit with all the family or take a dip in the shallow water of the river in the summer months.

In addition to hiking, cycling and other on-site activities such as archery, there’s no shortage of day trips locally. The nearby Grottes de Han on the outskirts of the village of Han-sur-Lesse are a fine example of underground limestone erosion. For an experience that is out of this world, take a ride on a space flight and micro-gravity simulator at the Euro Space Centre near Redu, a museum devoted to space science and astronautics.

Excellent site

La Clusure
We only stayed here for one night but our impression was very positive. It had excellent facilities and the pitches were nicely spaced out and shaded. The pool is nice and the restaurant looked good even though we ate from the on-site takeaway. The site is a bit off the beaten track but is in a nice setting right by a river where lots of youngsters were enjoying paddling in the shallow waters. The evening entertainment by the site staff was popular although it was all in Dutch so we had no idea what was going on!

Go to La Clusure - It's fantastic

La Clusure
We are a family of four (two adults and two teenage children) and have recently returned from a weeks stay at La Clusure (mid-August 2022) and can honestly say it is one of the best campsites we have had the pleasure of visiting. It has obviously undergone some serious redevelopment since some of the previous reviewers have visited and now boasts a wonderful new family swimming pool, outside bar area and entertainment area along with an American style diner, which does burgers, pizza, milkshakes, ice cream etc. The site also has a great little shop with fresh bread and croissants daily and a nice bar/ restaurant, which whilst not the cheapest was good quality. Yes, the site caters predominantly for the Dutch market, however this should not be seen as a downside as in our experience the Dutch are fantastic people, very friendly, polite, helpful and easy to get along with as well as being great fun. It is also predominantly a family campsite with lots and lots of young children milling about all over the place. The site also boasts a great kids club, which keeps the young ones entertained all day and in to the evening. We did not experience excessive noise or any anti-social behaviour and the park has a no noise policy between 11pm and 7am, which was strictly policed by park wardens. The site is kept very clean, is well maintained and the staff and management were all very friendly, polite and helpful. La Clusure is ideally situated to explore the Ardenne region and is set amongst some beautiful countryside, with nearby towns a short drive away and well worth a wander around. Further afield there is Luxembourg (about an hours drive from the site), which is also worth exploring along with numerous World War 2 museums, battle fields and cemeteries. The European Space Agency visitor centre is also a short drive from the site and whilst not the cheapest day out, is worth a visit. All in all we really enjoyed our stay at La Clusure and would encourage people to visit as not many British families venture in to that part of Belgium according to the park staff. We would certainly not hesitate to stay at La Clusure again.

A fabulous out of season get away!

La Clusure
We stayed at La Clusure camp site in March 2019 for 5 nights. It was a great base to explore this corner of Belgium, the Ardennes & WW2 museums and Battle of the Bulge locations. The camp site is predominantly used by the Dutch, all very friendly, but can be a little noisy ( but please don’t let this put you off). We stayed early in the season and did not experience any noise problems at all. Staff were extremely welcoming & friendly. Shop & restaurant/bar only open during high season, but we didn’t miss these amenities. Well maintained facilities and heated shower block. Ask for 16 amps electric hook up on arrival to avoid any electrical problems. We found this to be a perfect base to visit the Ardennes, Bastogne etc. Just to note, some museums/attractions don’t open until April, so just plan ahead to check what is open before you travel. Highly recommended for out of season visit!

Probably the noisiest site I have ever been to!

La Clusure
Stayed here for a week in August - first thing to understand is that this site is 99.9% Dutch, all the staff are Dutch and all the entertainment is Dutch. The Dutch are probably the loudest nationality I have ever come across and allow their children to run feral throughout the site until well past midnight. So don't come here if you're after peace and quiet! We ended up moving pitches down to the bottom of the site to find some quiet and once we had done that it was OKish. The issue with everything being Dutch is that all of the entertainment is in Dutch and all of the activities are conducted in Dutch which makes them pretty much inaccessible to British children. Location wise it is quite an interesting area with some walking but finding out about routes is quite difficult, the staff don't really know much about the local walks as I don't think the Dutch really do much walking - so do your research before you arrive. Similarly research any tourist information before you arrive as there isn't much available on site, eg. there is an Ardennes open air museum just 2 miles from the site but no mention of it at all in the site information.

Lovlely Site

La Clusure
what a lovely site, we have just stayed for four nights stop over may 2019 on our way to Switzerland the site is peaceful and quiet at this time of year, In high season it could be Biscay at times I would imagine, but very peaceful at the time of year. the toilets and showers spotless and washing areas clean and tidy, the restaurant and bar area looked nice but we did not use it, spoken to someone camped at the side of us said it was a very nice meal in the restaurant. it only opens a few time to the end of the week the staff was helpful and friendly, there is a walk around the site along the rive that runs past lots of bird life and woodland surroundings, the site. as a main train line that runs past the site but that did not bother us, the site is a bit out of the way but you can still get around in the car if need to, the only thing it as not got is a swimming pool, if you have children that might be a problem for soon family's got a play areas for the children and a American style dinner on site called doggie dinner when open you can get food from it if you like to, we would come back to this site at some point what a lovely welcoming site if you need it peaceful come in may and June probably not so Biscay then.
