Ideal for families
River Valley Holiday ParkA large, busy site in a pretty location in the Wicklow hills. It has friendly staff, well maintained facilities and a wide range of activities for children. There are 2 separate camping areas, one for families and the one we stayed on for adults only, each having their own facilities block.There is a pub and restaurant on site and a pleasant walking trail suitable for dog walks. The site is in the village of Redcross which has a store which sells a wide range of items including groceries and hardware. There is also a chippy and another smaller authentic local pub. There are a number of attractions within a short drive but some of the roads around the site are a bit narrow. It was a squeeze for us in our standard panel van conversion passing a coach dropping off its party in Avoca (Ballykissangel). This site was our last in Ireland and our ferry was sailing from Rosslare at 9.15pm. Although departure time from the site is 12 noon a pleasant staff member in reception said that we could leave later in the afternoon.
